Abe Hiroshi skiis for his life in the suspense comedy Shippu Rondo, based on the best-selling novel by Higashino Keigo. Directed by Yoshida Teruyuki (Japanese Salaryman NEO), the unpredictable mystery hits the snowy slopes in search of a weapon of mass destruction! Abe is joined on the offbeat adventure by Kanjani8 member Okura Tadayoshi (Clover) and former AKB48 member Oshima Yuko (Round Trip Heart).
An illegal biological weapon called "K-55" gets stolen from a medical research laboratory. Soon after, the lab director receives a threatening email from the criminal demanding a ransom payment of 300 million yen in four days. Because the weapon was developed illegally, calling the police is not an option. But then, the criminal dies, and now no one knows where K-55 is! In this time of great peril, the task of recovering the stolen weapon falls upon… senior researcher Kuribayashi Kazuyuki (Abe Hiroshi). From the criminal's belongings, he finds a clue pointing to "Japan's largest ski resort." With time ticking down, the future of Japan depends on an unreliable middle-aged beginner skier!
