  • March 7, 2008 Acting superb, plot downer Customer Review Rated Bad 7 - 7 out of 10
While being very very long, the series is carried very while by Dicky (whose hilarious!) and Nic (just tears yours heart). The acting was solid by the actors, and Nicholas did an amazing job playing brooding without being stupid/boring. I literally cried several times as the plot is a downer with many unhappy endings... If you like downers, or really like these actors, still a must-see!

March 7, 2008 Still 1 of the best Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
This is one of the first series of Asian tv dramas I've seen, and continues to be high-ranking. It's very well done with the interplay of the characters, though I wish they'd shown more of the other F4 leads before 'Meteor Rain'. Barbie makes a great female lead and you totally identify with her, and favorite Jerry role too. However, I found her parent's annoying and often fast-forwaded those parts. Also, Vic Chou is almost invisible (part of the point), but doesn't refine his acting until next series 'Mars' (highly recommended - he's AMAZING!). This is definitely a must-own.

March 7, 2008 Best TV series! Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
This was my first and has stayed my favorite, Taiwanese TV Drama!! The soundtrack is good, but I like the show better. While Angela's character is frequently annoying in her whining, Ambrose Hsu (Lavender) shines brilliantly in his gentle & powerfully strong character. Best role I've ever seen him! In the soundtrack, I was shocked with my first exposure to Angela what an amazing voice she has. I majored in music, and she's phenomonally talented in singing. She should stick to that only. Ambrose however shines more in acting, but carries himself well in music. 'Zerya' will always have a place in my heart!

  • March 7, 2008 Ken's great, hate plot Customer Review Rated Bad 5 - 5 out of 10
Ok, I really enjoy Ken Chu's acting and hoping to see him in more leading comedic roles. He kept me watching it. However, the plot was atrocious and very distracting/disturbing/absurd. I think only Ken fans will enjoy it.

    March 7, 2008 Great series - not worth $ Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
I got to see this without paying illegitamtely. However, there are no English subs, if you're not fluent. This is one of my favorite series with current hot star Vanness Wu. There's a good interplay of dimensions to his character without simply being the "goof" or "brooding bad boy" with his first or recent stuff. The lead actress for me was a little on the boring side, but Van made up for her performance. If you can afford the huge ridiculious price and do without subs, go for it.

    March 7, 2008 Surprised, good & bad Customer Review Rated Bad 5 - 5 out of 10
This movie by far surprised me, though probably my own fault since I hadn't seen the original. It was great getting to see Jackie in roles other than the comedies I've seen him in. However, my experience only with mainly American fighting movies, I was really surprised by the first 20 minutes and simply stared at the screen in shock. Didn't like that part at all, even though sets up the movie. Was great seeing Nicholas Tse in a much more light-hearted supporting role, instead of the normally quieter brooding fighting roles. He got to show up his comedic timing in addition to his fighting skills. Also, got to see some great up-and-coming talented martial artists/actors such as Andy On and Philip Ng. If you go in watching with a correct understanding of the premise that it'll be gory/heart-wrenching, it's good.

March 7, 2008 Much better than I expected! Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
I had a very different idea of this movie before I saw it, and expected it to be more bloody. I was very pleasantly surprised!! It was a great blend of humor and fighting. I greatly enjoyed seeing actors in roles different than I'm used to seeing them in. For example, Daniel Wu had a more comedic role than his violent starring role in "New Police Story", which was great to see! In addition, up-and-comer martial artist/actor Philip Ng has pretty good amount of fight scene time (also in NPS), even if mute the entire time. I could have done without the subplot between Ricky and the sister's bestfriend. Completely extraneous and boring sideplot that should have been trimmed like gross fat.
