The legendary Sammo Hung directs and stars in Spooky Encounters, a wildy entertaining film combining action, comedy, and supernatural shenanigans into one spectacular Hong Kong Cinema package! Sammo Hung is Cheung, a small town fellow whose life becomes a walking house of horrors. Already the target of his friends' practical jokes dealing with the supernatural, Cheung gets the book thrown at him when he's framed for the murder of his wife by her lover, Master Tam! But Cheung has an ally in the form of a Taoist priest (Chung Fa) who lends a hand to keep Cheung out of trouble, leading up to a spectacular fight sequence featuring Sammo Hung acting possessed by a myriad of legendary gods, including even the Monkey King! The amazingly choreographed action sequences, Sammo Hung's generous comedic persona, and the fun cast (including Wu Ma and Lam Ching Ying) are all entertaining in their own right, but it's the sublime combination of all these elements beneath Sammo Hung's beautifully-paced direction that makes Spooky Encounters a Hong Kong Cinema classic!
