Everything he believes comes into question at Sungkyunkwan where he befriends rich playboy Goo Yong Ha (Song Joong Ki) and vigilante Moon Jae Shin (Yoo Ah In), and slowly falls for the cute and cynical Yoon Hee. Can love and friendship hold up when political and romantic rivalries spill over and secrets are revealed?

[シリーズストーリー]
秘密、みつけた。君を、みつけた。僕らの過した場所——　“成均館”／幼い頃、父を亡くし母と病気の弟の面倒をみるため、男装して科挙試験の代筆でお金を稼ごうと決心するキム・ユニ（パク・ミニョン）。試験当日、ユニは代筆の依頼人と間違え、イ・ソンジュン（ユチョン）に声をかけてしまう。不正が大嫌いなソンジュンは、「不審な者がいる」と手を挙げると母と弟のためだから見逃してくれと懇願するユニ。ソンジュンはユニのことは話さず、ユニは大事を逃れる。ソンジュンはユニの聡明さを見抜き、５０両あげるから科挙試験を受けに来いとユニに言う。迷ったユニだが、弟ユンシクの名前で科挙試験を受けることにする。正祖（チョ・ソンハ）は、ユニの答案用紙が目に留まると答案の理由を問う。ユニは、世の中の不平等さを訴えたかったと言うと、正祖は代筆を頼んだ相手を聞く。するとソンジュンが立ち上がり、聡明なユニの頭を使わないのはこの国の損失だと考え自分が代理受験を依頼したと正祖に明かす。　自分を試したのかと激怒する正祖だが、成均館に入学し、寄宿舎生活をしろという命令を２人に下す…。そうして、女ということがバレたら厳罰に処されることを覚悟し、男として生活を始めるユニ。ユニとソンジュンは、ルームメイトのムン・ジェシン（ユ・アイン）、そして、先輩のク・ヨンハ（ソン・ジュンギ）、ハ・インス（チョン・テス）たちと出会い、様々な試練を乗り越えていく。そんな中、ユニとソンジュンは初めは嫌っているが、徐々に理解し合い、お互いの魅力に引き寄せられていくのだが・・・。
