Our Times heroine Vivian Sung returns to the nineties in the Taiwan time-slip youth drama Take Me to the Moon, co-starring idol drama heartthrob Jasper Liu (When I See You Again). Directed by Hsieh Chun Yi (Apolitical Romance), the moving coming-of-age film recalls the effervescence and dreams of youth and the bittersweet realities and regrets of growing up. Filled with nostalgic references to nineties pop culture and music, the film in particular pays homage to late Taiwan singer-songwriter Tom Chang Yu Sheng, whose classic song Take Me To The Moon lends the film its title.

Back in high school 20 years ago, Wang Zheng Xiang (Jasper Liu) was in a band with his crush Emma (Vivian Sung), a popular and strong-minded girl whose greatest dream was to become a singer. That chance came in her senior year of high school when she was selected at an open audition by a famous Japanese producer. After graduation, Emma headed to Japan to pursue her music career, but things never quite worked out. The years of struggle would indelibly change Emma and lead her to tragedy. After a reunion with the other band members, the sad and drunken Zheng Xiang stumbles through the streets, meets a mysterious old woman, and passes out. When he awakens, he realizes that he's back in 1997, and it's several days before the audition that would change the course of Emma's life. Zheng Xiang sets out to try to save her from her own fate.

Wang Zheng Xiang reunites with the members of his high school band at the memorial of their lead singer, Li En Pei. The six of them were certain that En Pei would eventually become famous. But fate doesn’t play fair and En Pei’s dreams ended in tragedy. Zheng Xiang regrets having encouraged En Pei to Pursue her dreams all those years ago. He wonders if En Pei would have died if he had stopped her from joining the pageant back then.
