In 1701, Asano Naganori, the daimyo of the Ako domain, had a confrontation with court official Kira Yoshinaka and attacked him in the Edo Castle. That same day, Asano was ordered to commit seppuku and his title was abolished. Asano's retainers – the 47 ronin – bide their time and avenged their lord's death over a year later in one of the most famous vendetta stories of samurai lore. Directed by Nakamura Yoshihiro (Mumon: The Land of Stealth), The 47 Ronin in Debt retells the famous story of the 47 ronin's valiant efforts for revenge, which requires a lot of planning – and a lot of money! Tsutsumi Shinichi plays the leader of the 47 ronin who must manage the budget to fund their one and only chance for revenge. The film's star-studded ensemble also includes Tsumabuki Satoshi, Hamada Gaku, Yokoyama Yu, Okamura Takashi, Arakawa YosiYosi, Takeuchi Yuko, Ishihara Satomi and Chiba Yudai.

This edition includes a 20-page booklet, a large postcard and a bonus DVD of special features.
