 SNSD - Never Say Die Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
The Best is a good GG music and video collection, especially if you haven’t got some of these dance songs as video collections on disk, which here also include early MV versions. The cool cover, too, with the girls’ long tresses give GG that nice cool rock look. ‘The Best’ is what you’d expect for any ‘best of’ compilation - a concise and comprehensive selection of songs and videos and this compendium certainly has that with an excellent booklet and large photo picture card to boot. Certainly recommend the DVD version if you haven’t already got one of the other GG collections for the music videos (this ‘The Best’ now available as a much cheaper Taiwanese version). To be honest I haven’t as yet exhausted all this set’s material (haven’t watched the interviews and making of yet) but I like new song ‘Indestructible’ (oh the irony! Like Captain Scarlet?) and some videos I haven’t seen before. I always like SNSD. Cannot forget Taeyeon’s words on the ‘Paradise in Phuket’ set telling certain fans not to be embarrassed at liking them, and that’s just Taeyeon’s example of what GG are about. Good personalities of differing sort in a music industry machine that isn’t the same as getting to spontaneously know your close friends, but SNSD shine through their ‘drama’ and ‘acts’ with likeability.

Just as this major compilation for SNSD looks back over the years (and a new three year contract signed with SM), the time as arisen for major changes now that Jessica will no longer presently be with the other girls (gob smacked I admit I was also). I realise that Jessica’s absence now from GG isn’t exactly the same as Ozzy when he was ‘forced out’ of Black Sabbath after their 1978 album ‘Never Say Die’, but a sort of similar thing that can happen in this ‘game’. For Jessica there can be new and fresh ventures (like the TV show with sister Krystal). It’s just the way that all the ‘news’ gets spewed out to the rest of us that can be bizarre and confusing to say the least. Of course Jessica has my simple blessings for whatever she wants to do, and as long as SNSD’s now creaky ship feels less stressed about a ‘scandal’ the happier and more less negative energy is expended. Let the girls know you are happy with them (warts and all) and you’ll get more love from of them...simples. Moan about them then the demons come out to play. You’ll never lose the spirit of the team/band. And to GG and Sones alike, just don’t panic, despair, give GG up and SNever Say Die! :D
