Blue is the color of the cornflower and also the color of love for a pair of sisters in romantic tragedy The Blue Cornflower starring Alex Fong, Chang Chen, Fann Wong and Jiang Yiyan. Television director Chen Ming Zhang (Love You, My Splendid Life) takes on the silver screen for the first time with this tearjerker inspired by Hans Christian Andersen's The Little Mermaid. Fann Wong and Jiang Yiyan play sisters in love with the same man who saved their lives. An emotional roller coaster follows when one of them has no choice but to walk out of the game.

In his youth, Nie Hua Chen (Alex Fong), the heir to the Pearl Hotel, lost his mother in a disaster but rescued the Sang sisters by chance. Sang Yun (Fann Wong) grows up into a beautiful young woman who captures Nie's heart and helps his family run the hotel. Younger sister Sang Duo (Jiang Yiyan), a gifted musician, also falls in love with her lifesaver, but runs away when she learns about Nie's marriage with her sister. The complicated love triangle turns into a business rivalry between Nie and William, the ambitious CEO of the Hiban Hotel who has a crush on Sang Duo.
