Jurassic Park star Sam Neill encounters ancient creatures of a different kind in The Dragon Pearl! He leads an international cast including Hong Kong actor/singer Jordan Chan (Young and Dangerous) and Mainland actress Wang Ji (The Karate Kid) in the dragon-searching, treasure-hunting fantasy action adventure helmed by Emmy Award-winning director Mario Andreacchio. But it is arguable that the real star of the Australia-China co-production is the computer-animated Chinese dragon created by the Oz visual effects team behind such Hollywood blockbusters as the Harry Potter movies.
Set and shot in China, the family-friendly flick tells what happened three thousand years ago, when the emperor borrowed the magical pearl from the Holy Dragon to defend his land against foreign aggressors. He was killed in action, and the Dragon Pearl has gone missing ever since. At a joint excavation site in China today, a team of Chinese and Australian archaeologists attempt to unearth the buried imperial tombs, inadvertently sending Dr. Chase's (Sam Neill) teenage son Josh (Louis Corbett) and Dr. Li's (Wang Ji) daughter Ling (Li Linjin) on a dangerous quest for the Dragon Pearl.

But the new friends soon discover they're right in the middle of an adventure when they find a mysterious monster that's been hidden deep in a temple for thousands of years.
