The soundtrack comprises of 11 tracks including the warm Kim Jung Bae-composed acoustic number "Steps" by SHINee's Tae Min, Yoo Gun's bittersweet ballad "I Love You to Death" and trio Barberettes' "Sweet Lies."

이번 ‘총리와 나’ OST에는 샤이니 태민, 윤건, 바버렛츠 등 아름다운 보컬을 자랑하는 아티스트들이 참여하였다. 특히 샤이니 태민이 가창한 "발걸음"은 따듯하면서도 밝은 느낌의 어쿠스틱 모던 록으로, 소년의 감성이 잘 표현된 태민의 두 번째 OST 곡이다. 드라마의 스토리에 잘 어울리는 절제되고 깔끔한 노랫말이 태민의 미성과 절묘하게 결합되는 것을 느낄 수 있다. 또한 본 곡은 기타리스트 겸 작곡가인 김정배 프로듀서가 작곡, 작사, 편곡을 진행하였으며, 그만의 스타일이 묻어나는 기타를 중심으로 한 심플한 악기구성이 돋보인다.

감미로운 보컬의 소유자 윤건이 부른 “죽을 만큼 사랑하라”는 오랜만에 드라마 OST를 통해 선보인 노영심 음악감독의 신곡이다. 선이 굵고 무게감 있는 사운드를 느낄 수 있는 발라드 곡으로, 절제된 감정이 스며든 윤건의 아름다운 목소리와 노영심, 정재일이 함께 작업한 음악이 절묘하게 어우러지는 것을 느낄 수 있다. 오케스트라 버전에서는 윤건의 애절하며 호소력 짙은 보컬과 오케스트라 특유의 웅장하면서도 묵직한 사운드가 듣는 이의 감정을 극대화 시키며, 이와 함께 공개된 밴드 버전에서는 오케스트라 버전에 기타, 베이스, 드럼 등의 각종 악기들이 추가돼 드라마 속에서 전개되는 새롭고 다이나믹한 감정을 전한다.

세 번째로 선보인 곡은 노영심 작사, 작곡의 ‘다정한 거짓말’로 돋보이는 가창력과 함께 달콤함을 주무기로 최근 새롭게 주목 받고 있는 3인조 여성 밴드 바버렛츠가 참여, 발랄하고 부드러운 감성을 느낄 수 있는 팝 록 곡이다. 노영심 음악감독 특유의 예쁘고 귀에 와 닿는 멜로디와 통통 튀는 가사가 바버렛츠만의 매력적인 보컬 컬러 및 화음과 조화를 이뤄, 드라마의 스토리와 완벽한 삼박자를 이루어 낸 모습을 만날 수 있다.
