A brand new historical drama that deals with the rise of the infamous Tang Dynasty and one of the most well known Emperors in Chinese History: Tang Tai Zong. Directed by famous Hong Kong director Lai Shui Ching, it stars youthful stars Peter Ho, Yan Kuan, Jia Jing Wen, Gao Yuan Yuan as they add some fiction to a classic historical event that changed the course of history! Towards the end of the brutal Sui Dynasty, the Emperor begins to get suspicous of his best general Lee Yuan, and tried unsuccessfully to assassinate him. The Emperor then decided to let Lee's eldest son Jian Cheng marry his beautiful daughter to applease Lee Yuan, however she is secretly betrothed to Lee's second son Lee Shi Min. This triggered off hostilities between the two brothers that will fight each other to the death for love and power!

When I watched the first episode, I think I will not like it. But after watching the second and so on, I became more and more like it. The story is good, and easy to understand. The costums is nice to watch. But the ending... just like that? Anyway, the whole story is interesting, except for the ending, too simple.

i like this series alot. it may have strayed from history but it is very entertaining with the interesting plots and twists. peter ho did an ave job as li shiming. gao yuanyuan is simply gorgeous and her acting is very convincing, shes beautiful by nature and even more beautiful in here due to the stunning costumes, her character in here is 1 to be loved. i agree that she'll do great as xiao long nu in shen diao xia lu.

Wow!!! I had waited so much to see Gao Yuan Yuan as the major role for I think She will suit best for it... At long last i have already waited Gao Yuan Yuan in her first major role... She's very beautiful and charming... she's so inspiring as a real feminine woman... my gosh... I like her best in the role of SHEN YU SHA LI but she's not the leading lady... But still I like her... I love to watch all her series thought she's not the leading lady...

I Love Gao Yuan Yuan so much!!! Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Gao Yuan Yuan is much more beautiful whenever she wear an ancient costume pr dress... And especially when she had a very soft and feminine....I also like her in Shen Yi Xia Lyu...The Romance of Peter Ho and Gao Yuan Yuan are very touching...Peter sacrifice his love for Yuan Yuan when he knew that she's the princess and gave her to his older brother...From the very start or beginning of the series, both brothers fight for the princess...then for power...and loyalty but the only thing i dont like is there is their love for each other was broken because of his older brother's selfishness and ambition... He make Gao Yuan Yuan suffer very much and make Peter Ho break his heart until the end... Its good!!

Gao Yuan Yuan is an Angel Doll! Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Hey, the only reason I purchased this serial is to watch Gao Yuan Yuan. I've been waiting for so long to see her in a major role.

I don't know about others, but Gao Yuan Yuan reminds me of "Yuri" from F.I.N.K.L. (Korean Pop Group)--only Gao Yuan Yuan is much prettier and sweeter.

Aside from you beauty and sweetness, she's also a aspiring actress. She has come a long ways and her chemistry onscreen seems very life-like.

I hope to see more of her in the future.

(Can someone please redo "Return of the Condor Heroes" with Gao Yuan Yuan as Xiao Long Nu (Small Lady Dragon)?...I'd donate all my organs to support this project! <g>)
