Model Naomi Nishida stars as Sakiko, a young woman with an obsession for only one thing: money! To that end, Sakiko undertakes a truly hilarious journey that starts with armed robbery and moves through a variety of unexpected adventures and oddball encounters, with that one single light at the end of the tunnel: money! Full of ridiculous situations, unlikely and hilarious events, and laugh-out-loud absurdities, Himitsu no hanazono is an exaggerated deadpan farce that plays like Japanese manga brought to life on the big screen! As the overdrawn, off-the-wall, and yet hilariously deadpan Sakiko, Naomi Nishida turns in an impressive comic performance.

 A madcap classic Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
After almost ten years, this Shinobu Yaguchi jewel is available to us (and subtitled at that).

Basically, it's the story of a girl (model-actress) Naomi Nishida) who's mesmerized by money. When a suitcase of money slips away from her grip, she shoulders every manner of task -- physical and intellectual -- to reunite her with that cash (or cache) once again.

Nishida is hilarious in a movie that should have received wide release when it first came out. it's loopy, strange, and worth its weignt in money for sheer laughs.
