Taiwan Da Ai TV's 2015 three-episode mini-drama The Taste of Dang-Liang's Family brings out the taste and value of life through the moving true story of chef Wu Dang Liang and his family. Long Shao Hua won Best Actor at the 21st Asian Television Awards for his performance in the title role.

Wu Dang Liang (Long Shao Hua) once served as the private chef of President Chiang Ching Kuo. He was also once the owner of Kaoshiung's most popular Western restaurant. After a fire changes Dang Liang's outlook on life, he starts a noodle restaurant in Tainan and settles into a simple and steady life. When his wife Cai (Lin Mei Chau) is diagnosed with terminal cancer, he is at a loss at how to confront this misfortune. Cai takes a trip to Hualien on her own and then makes an important decision: she will donate her body to science. Though shocked, Dang Liang respects her choice, not knowing that the decision will also change his own later years.

吳党良（龍劭華飾）曾用一鍋清粥，三盤小菜成為蔣經國總統在墾丁賓館的私廚，也曾是高雄最著名的大眾化西餐廳老闆。一場火災讓吳党良感慨生命無常。吳党良憑藉著好手藝在台南開起麵館，吸引不少忠實顧客，生活穩定而踏實。但當醫生告訴吳党良，他的妻子阿裁（林美照飾）已是肺腺癌末期，突聞噩耗的吳党良不敢告訴妻子，獨自面對極大的壓力。而感受到自己逐漸凋零的阿裁，竟說她要獨自一人去花蓮的精舍拜訪師父。在全家人反對之下，阿裁非常堅持地搭上通往花蓮的火車。到了精舍後，阿裁並沒有見到上人，但她做了人生中最大的決定─她要成為大體老師。這個突如其來的決定，引發了一場風暴，最終吳党良選擇尊重太太的決定，卻沒想到這個決定也改變了自己晚年的人生……
