Yoo Ji Tae stars as renowned Korean opera singer Bae Jae Chul in the inspiring biopic The Tenor - Lirico Spinto. Bae was one of the world's top tenors when in 2005, at the height of his career, he was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. The operation that saved his life would also rob him of his voice and throw him into despair. Determined to help his friend, Japanese music producer Sawada Koji (Iseya Yusuke, Rurouni Kenshin: The Legend Ends) persuades Bae to undergo restorative vocal cord surgery in Japan and strive for the chance to sing again. A Korean-Japanese co-production also co-starring Cha Ye Ryun (Sector 7) and Kitano Kie (Halfway), The Tenor - Lirico Spinto is directed by Kim Sang Man, who previously worked with Yoo Ji Tae on Midnight FM.
