The Vampire Returns is among the very few TV dramas that Cantopop diva Sammi Cheng has participated in and her only costume TV drama to date. While her talent in singing is indisputable, fans will also be delighted to see her demonstrate superb acting skills in playing two twin sisters with contrasting personalities. She joins forces with martial arts star Chin Siu Ho to present a touching love story with a supernatural twist. The theme songs by Sammi Cheng were also big hits in 1993.

The story is set in the late Qing period when ghost-catcher Cheung Ho Yee (Chor Yuen) brings his two disciples Beiping (Chin Siu Ho) and Nanjing (Wayne Lai) from Beijing to Hong Kong. Ping meets a pair of beautiful twin sisters, Piu Hung and Piu Suet (both played by Sammi Cheng), and falls in love with Suet who is actually a ghost. Ping later joins the police force and comes across rich man's daughter Tin Lai (Emily Kwan). Lai loves Ping a lot, but Ping remains loyal to Suet. Lai commits suicide and transforms herself into a fierce ghost to exact revenge on Ping.

Product Information

The story opens in the late Lching Dynasty. CHEUNG HO YI (Chor Yuen), who is a ghost-buster, leaves the capital for Hong Kong with his students CHEUNG PAK PING (Chin Siu Ho) and CHEUN LAM KING (Lai Yiu Cheung). To earn a living, PING joins the police force. Vampires are constant sources of troubles in town and PING has been invited to handle cases which involve them. He discovers by chance that the richest merchant in town is responsible for a murder which took place years ago.

TO TIN LAI (Kwan Po Wai), daughter of themerchant, has fallen for PING, who loves PIU SUET (Sammi Cheng), a kindhearted ghost Lai kills herself and her ghost haunts PING. SUET’s twin sister, PIU HUNG (Sammi Cheng), also adores PING, who is confused about his feeling…

Well worth watching and yes it is sad but then the plot is really good compared to story plots now...I would recommend people to buy it.

This is such an old series, this series makes me miss the old days and the good tyms when sammi was still young and have alot of youth. She protrays in 3 different characters in this series, She acts as 2 twins sisters, one is a ghost which had a human fell in love with and the other sister which is more an Tom boy character who acts all man. This is one of the series you should watch because its a really interesting story and its also very sad. I really recommend this series for people who loves to watch intersting story and if you like comedy and love stories this is the one for u to buy
