Yamamoto Yusuke, Seto Koji, Miura Shohei, Yanagishita Tomo, Daito Shunsuke, and AAA's Nishijima Takahiro take on the manly sport of rhythmic gymnastics in the 2010 TBS drama Tumbling. Appearing in his first drama lead role, Yamamoto Yusuke plays Crows-style high school delinquent Wataru, who has to join a school club to make up for his bad attendance. For lack of a better choice and to get close to the cute new transfer student (Okamoto Azusa), Wataru joins the ragtag rhythmic gymnastics team led by Yuta (Seto Koji). The beleaguered team gets no respect in the school, but things begin to change when hot-tempered Wataru decides to become serious about the sport. EXILE's Akira co-stars as a teacher in the drama.

Tumbling - 2 Hours Special Edition DVD comes with the two-hour version of the drama's first episode, plus production presentation, interviews, and other special features.

[解説]
新体操を通じて成長していく部員達の姿を、それぞれが抱える問題を絡めながら笑いと涙で綴る、正統派スポ根青春コメディだ。性格も目指すものも全く違うメンバーが集まって行う新体操団体競技はどうなっていくのか？日陰のスポーツと思われている「男子新体操」に脚光を当て、廃部寸前の弱小部が、成功に向かって突き進む姿を描いていく。演じるのは今旬の男子ばかり。主役はゴールデン連ドラ初主演となる山本裕典。２００９年、３クールの連続ドラマのレギュラーだった彼が満を持して挑む！他にも瀬戸康史、三浦翔平、大東俊介、ＡＡＡの西島隆弘、冨浦智嗣、柳下大、賀来賢人、タモト清嵐など話題の男子が総出演。そして彼らと対立し、時に見守り、叱咤激励する大人たちに国仲涼子、ＡＫＩＲＡ、大塚寧々とベテランも揃う。山本を始めとする男子新体操部員たちはすでに秋から新体操の練習を始めており、その力の入れようが伺える。山本らの新体操演技は一切吹き替えなし！体当たりで挑む彼らのタンブリングは果たして成功するのか？役とリンクして体を張って新体操に打ち込む姿に期待して欲しい！！

[ストーリー]
烏森高校３年の東航（山本裕典）といえば泣く子も黙る（？）カラ高のアタマ。月森亮介（三浦翔平）や日暮里圭児（賀来賢人）たちとツルんで喧嘩は負け知らず、熱血で単純バカな航たちは周囲の生徒はもちろん、教師にさえ怖がられる存在だ。ある日、航は赴任したばかりの担任・柏木（ＡＫＩＲＡ）から２年の単位不足を補うために何か部活をやらなければいけないと聞かされる。気が短い航は何をやっても続かない。そんな時、クラスの美人転校生・里中茉莉（岡本あずさ）が女子新体操部に入ったことを知り、航は勢いで男子新体操部に仮入部することになる。男子新体操部は３年でキャプテンの竹中悠太（瀬戸康史）と金子敦（タモト清嵐）、水沢拓（柳下大）、２年のエース・火野哲也（西島隆弘）らごく少人数での活動。弱小、と女子新体操部の顧問・江崎（国仲涼子）たちからバカにされ、体育館も満足に使わせてもらえない毎日だ。しかし１年生の土屋聡史（冨浦智嗣）が新入部員として加入したことで、悠太は念願だった６人の部員での団体戦に参加することを決める。素行が悪く、乱暴な航の仮入部に悠太たちは戸惑うばかりだったが、それでも団体戦の試合に向けての練習を始める。茉莉が火野のタンブリング（＝宙返り）を褒めたことから、航は勝手に火野をライバル視。悠太にタンブリングを早く教えろとうるさく迫る。そのためにはまずは基礎練習から、と悠太は諭すが、気の短い航は我慢が出来ない。そんなある日、悠太たちは街でヤンキーたちに絡まれる。助けに入った航だったが、揉みあう最中に土屋が怪我をしてしまう…。

Stretching and sweating!!!!! Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Well I have just finished watching this first episode on mysoju and it is absolutely fantastic!!!! 2010 certainly seems to be the comeback year for J-Drama what with the equally brilliant yankee-kun to megame chan also being shown. Tumbling is certainly another drama that deserves recognition.

In the vein of Waterboys and Swing Girls it follows a somewhat unsuccessful group of Male Rhythmic Gymnastic competitors. Although they never have enougth members to enter any competitions and they are always battling against the girl's team for practice space their luck suddenly changes when Yankee Wataru joins the team. A combination of trying to impress the new girl and trying not to displease his mom Wataru half-heartly attempts the srict regime of the tumbling profession.... or tamborine as he likes to call it!!!!! But after witnessing the determination of the team's leader Yuta (played by heartthrob Seto Koji from the Koizora TV Drama) he soon puts his heart into the perfomance not for the sake of the girl or his mother but for himself. Of course in the first episode good intentions don't always mean high points!!!!

Even after one episode I was immediately gripped by the storyline and the characters. There are so many dramas about Yankee's trying to chnage their ways but this one has a edge for me. Fantatsically acted and already showing some amazing tumbling routines I can't wait to watch the rest!!!So if you are a Waterboys fan/ Stick It, gymnast enthusist or just enjoy the thrill of Japanese boys stretching and sweating Tumbling is for you!!!!
