LI SHI CHUAN QI JU XIN NU FU MA (Vol. 1-22) (China Version)
LI SHI CHUAN QI JU XIN NU FU MA (Vol. 1-22) (China Version) DVD Region All(4)May 26, 2009 could have been better
Huang was the only good looking girl in the bunch, hence her title as a great beauty, but her character suffered from bad characterization. She's so perfect in every way that no real reason was given for why she was that good. though she carried her role well and was without a doubt the only interesting character in the whole series.
the remaining cast had some good people but mostly bad. The main actor is unattractive, both in physical appearance and character wise. The biggest miscast would be the princess who looked too old for the role.
the plot line is very much like swiss cheese, filled with holes but still tasty...in this case interesting.
Shanghai 1920 (VCD) (Hong Kong Version)November 4, 2008 an excellent film about friendship
a wonderfully made film. its tells the tale of friendship between a white boy and a chinese boy and together they grew up and built an empire.
ofcourse like any good buddy film their friendship is broken by the usual issues that manly men usually has but its done so well and the ending is just enough to make you feel like you wish you had something like that.
Mr. Vampire Saga 4 (VCD) (Hong Kong Version)November 4, 2008 not the same but funny as hell
although its about vampire's too but its not on the same level as Mr Vampire series. it has different characters and a different feel.
but its one hilarious film, credit must be given to the writers who managers to think up of such an enjoyable plot. the actors seem to enjoy themselves and it shows.
Yuen Wah is so funny as the gay guard. too bad he doesn't do any kung fu.
Love In Garden StreetNovember 4, 2008 not to good
the acting was bad, the guys do well enough for their roles but the females are lacking. their so called friendship is so fake and unbelievable its hard to think they are that close.
most of the characters are dislikable, everyone is at fault and in the end, friendship really can't withstand the involvement of a man.
Killing EndNovember 4, 2008 a depressing film
this film is a drama. don't be mistaken by the name or the cover, or the plot line for that matter.
the film although tells of a cop but its not really anything about that. Andy Hui is caught in a dilemma that he wants to leave behind but it becomes impossible and instead he is forced to pay a price. its a well written plot that need to be packaged differently.
The Happy Ghost (DVD) (Hong Kong Version)November 4, 2008 was expecting a comedy
when i first saw this film, i thought it would be slap stick comedy. it started out quite funny and light hearten but halfway through your left with much drama and by the end its really about learning to stand on your own to feet.
its a good lesson and i enjoyed the journey.
best scene would be when raymond wong was forced to prove his 'ghost'-hood to Sandy and Loletta. the way the scene was executed was just hilarious.
had the film could have been made any year and the formula would have still worked, only the clothing and props would have been different. a timeless classic. Nine Girls and a Ghost was a horrible adaption that lost the entire feel.
Everlasting Love (DVD) (Hong Kong Version)1 people found this review helpful
November 4, 2008 an ok film
andy is quite young in this film, he and irene looked very compatible but the film suffers from the same overused plot lines.
i won't spoil it for anyone so i won't give away the ending, but if you've seen enough 80's romance film you'll guess the ending right away.
loletta lee also appears as irene's younger sister, i liked her character and she looked quite adorable.
Sealed With A KissJuly 24, 2006 an endering story
a very light story about the expression of love. Yoyo's character moves from one relationship to another without much investment while Louis tries deal with the way he feels about her. being mute he feels to insecure to express his love and instead tries to help her win a guy she likes.
definitely not for those who aren't into films such as 'message in a bottle' or 'city of angels'.
Xin Zui Da Jin Zhi (Vol.1-40) (End) (China Version)
Xin Zui Da Jin Zhi (Vol.1-40) (End) (China Version) DVD Region All(3)Our Price: US$39.99July 24, 2006 okay
the film was okay, i was expecting alot more from Chai Rim and Nick Cheung. Nick looked to old for the role.
The couple might have been halarious the first half but by the second half they were verging on annoying. not to mention they did nothing but argue with each other.
in contrast, Yoyo Mung and her two love interest were very interesting, and i would have rathered the film featured them more. the only 'hero' or 'heroin' in this film would Yoyo and her husband.
i watched this film for Chai Rim but ended up loving Yoyo Mung's character alot more.
Justic Pao (Vol.1-9) (End) (US Version)December 31, 2005 It's Judge Pao!
anything with Judge Pao from ATV is worth a try, the actor that stars as Judge Pao is the best one out of them all, he really has the aura of a judge, just looking at him will make you scared.
gilberts lam's story is quite boring, didn't like it much, Michelle Yim's story is interesting, she looked scary though, by the end i was wishing she'll somehow escape death.
but it's judge pao, he has to behead someone at the end of each case or that person has to die somehow.
Xian He Shen Zhen (Vol. 1-30) (China Version)December 31, 2005 worth a try
unless you really want to see the film for one of the actors then by all means try it!
but the story itself is very bad, it's based on a novel, and having read the novel and disliked it, i found the film much worse, since they changed alot of things.
Michelle Yim fans do not bother! she appears for 10 mins at the start only!
Return To The Truth (Vol.1-20) (End) (US Version)December 31, 2005 great film!
a very good film about two brothers fighting for love, fame and fortune. the ending is a one off, will leave a lasting impression
for Michelle Yim fans! don't be fooled by the poster, she and kong wah are mother and son, not a couple. she dies half way too.
Qin Shi Huang (Vol.31-63) (End) (China Version)December 30, 2005 big mistake!
for michelle fans out there don't be mistaken when seeing her name listed. she's not lead or second lead, she appears for a grand total of around 20 minutes. although she looked absolutely beautiful through out the 20 minutes.
i don't understand why damian would fall for the other girl while he has michelle waiting for him?!
the main actress petrina fung looked really old and unattractive not to mention tired. it was said that she was going through her divorce at the time so i guess it's understandable.
Princess Cheung Ping (Vol.1-50) (End) (US Version)(2)Our Price: US$158.99December 30, 2005 one of the best!
if anyone has seen the new princess cheung ping with steven ma and charmain sheh, wether you hated it or liked it you just have to catch this one.
the story is more interesting and michelle yim is the best princess cheung ping ever.
althought the story starts to drag when both damian and davids character leave the palace and after cheung ping herself leave the palace, but it was worth it.
The Legend of Master So (End)December 30, 2005 michelle fans!
contray to what we think, michelle barely appeared although is is the female that appears the most. her character has nothing to it but to be the love of both donald and michael.
donald was so bad at martial arts it was hard to be convinced he was the best, on the other hand andy lau was great!
michelle fans should be wary, she doesn't have a good life neither does she get a good ending.
And Now, What is Your Name? (VCD) (Hong Kong Version)(2)Our Price: US$6.99December 30, 2005 out of print????
when is this going to be reprinted? i really want to buy it, i've been searching on the net and just can't seem to find it anywhere. please reprint it please
Xuan Xue Jian (Vol. 1-40) (End) (China Version)December 30, 2005 great start!
like most atv series this film had a really good start. michelle mai shuet appeareance really put you on edge, she was great at that powerful evil woman. but the best love story goes to her daughter by mimi kung.
both michelle and mimi were excellent! but sadly the story focuses on the third generation of Kristy and Alice, which is such a bore i couldn't even fiinish the thing.
if you want to see a good show, buy the first half. don't waste your money on the second, unless you really want to see the ending to mimi's love story.
i hated every man in this story.
Lang Zi Yan Qing (Vol.1-40) (End) (China Version)August 19, 2005 another misleading poster
considering how big Ning Jing's picture is on the picture, she barely appeared and when she did she seem quite ackward in her role.
The main actors are great, they fitted their roles perfectly. The King really did give the sense of someone being above all else, he's slow movements show his high status.
The main actor had some great kung fu moves, i wonder does he know kung fu for real? He really pulled off the liveliness of his character then later the grief. a very versetile actor, even if he is not good looking.
the downfall to the film would be the leading ladies, Ning Jing was already bad, the main actress was worse. For being a great martial artist she didn't give the aura or acted like one. She was too tall and looked out of place in the set, her acting was raw and she couldn't cry properly.
The supporting actresses were not much better, they either try to act too cute or couldn't bring their character to life.
The plot was overused and had relatively no exciting moments.
YING XIONG (Vol. 1-30) (China Version)August 19, 2005 misleading poster
I watched this series for Ning Jing who has the largest picture on the poster, but Ning Jing barely appeared in the first third and dissapeared completely in the middle and still had little screen time in the last part compared to the supposedly second lead actress. Obviously the film was to promote the second lead actress.
But the plot was well written, i enjoyed most of Huang Hai Bing's scenes, he's character was very well written.
Although they did us CG's but i am glad to say they didn't go overboard like some of the films now days.
The Missing Gun (2002) (DVD) (Hong Kong Version)August 19, 2005 a worthy try
the missing gun is definitely not for those who aren't used to china cinema (not hong kong, china). the whole concept of the film about a missing gun may seem to be overplayed to most people but considering the setting it's extremly appropriate.
it help some exciting moments and keeps the audience guessing, but the last outcome was a big dissapointment. i was expecting alot more.
Ning Jing's guest appearence was a big let down, considering how big her picture was on the cover (China Version) she only had little screen time.
