WM Vol 1-43 China Version
It's one of my aim to watch this classic and I finally did a couple of months ago. The quality of the version I watched was quite old but I specified review for this one cause I recognise the cover and I've not watched other versions or read the book. This is top notch mandarin and the only flaw is there's no subtitles (be it chinese or English). You'll be lost if your mandarin is poor.
The story begins at a slow pace and one has to remember key characters as the story later unfold and involve these people, how they met up under different circumstances, became friends, form their brotherhood and eventually came to a head. Each key character involves 2 to 3 episodes. The last few episodes bring everyone together. Ifyou're into this sort of stuff, go for it. But remember, patience is the name of the game. |

classic
I remember watching episode on wusong when i was a little kid we had 11inch b/w tv and everyone was glue to the screen. This is i have been waiting for a very long time is simple the Best version of all time... the actors are wonder, music and performances are just brillant truely fit for a classic... having watch the first 3 episode of the new version i can't continue its not the same, bad choice of actors, fancy martial arts does not truely reflect this classic and makes the original version soo much better...
love it :) |

Outlaws Of The Marsh
The closest I could get to this movie, is, reading the book, I found it very exciting, but how come this movie does'nt have English subtitles. It is a shame that everyone in the English speaking world could not benefit by it. |

Best novel-best TV Series
After reading the books and getting thoroughly hooked on the stories, I had to get the DVD set, even though it has no English subs. I do not understand much Mandarin, so read the book again while watching the TV series to fill in my lack of understanding the dialogue. Shortcuts are to be expected in such a massive story when converting from book to movie, but they really did a fine job despite this. The characters are very well acted and portrayed. Nearly all the stories seem true to the books. It is very easy for me to give this the highest rating for a film or TV series. Wonderful story-telling. The lead role of Song Jiang is played by the same actor as the emperor in Emperor and Assassin. |
