香魂姑娘訣別親人，與蠶仙共謀拼殺鏟除了山妖。洞內數日辰，世間數十年，萬分欣喜回至家鄉的香魂女驚疑不解，當時痛別親人之處建起了一座仙姑廟，自己的塑像被供奉著。已年老的姐妹們攜子女前來焚香祭拜仙姑。香魂女從塑像後走出來親切拜見。眾人以為出鬼驚愕萬狀，拼命逃離。鄉親們怕鬼進庄燒毀了橋梁。白發老母率眾來到河邊橋頭，跪地焚香，拜謝香魂女獻身為民的恩德，乞求仙姑回天，不要進庄給鄉民帶來災難。香魂姑娘有口難辨，萬般無奈，為免除親人的恐懼，欣然自焚。
