Directed by Nopporn Watin, Yamada: The Samurai of Ayothaya is based on the true story of Yamada Nagamasa, a Japanese trader and adventurer who settled in the Siamese kingdom of Ayothaya during the early 17th century. Thailand-based model-actor Oseki Seki stars as the eponymous young samurai who joins a volunteer regiment in Ayothaya. He gets injured fighting against rogue Japanese samurai, and barely escapes death thanks to a tribe of Thai warriors. Learning Thai martial arts from his rescuers, Yamada takes arms in the brutal battle to defend his adopted homeland from his own countrymen. Legendary actor Sorapong Chatree, K-1 champion Buakaw Por Pramuk, and Miss Thailand Kanokkorn Jaicheun co-star in this exhilarating action epic that combines Japanese swordplay and Muay Thai.
