亦舒，原名倪亦舒，1946年生於上海，祖籍浙江鎮海，兩歲來港定居，曾就讀嘉道理小學、北角官小，中學畢業於何東女子職業中學，十五歲開始寫稿，第一篇小說刊登在《西點》，十七歲開始替明報寫稿，當時仍然是一位中學生。中學畢業後，曾在《明報》任職記者及擔任電影雜誌採訪記者和編輯。1973年，亦舒赴英國修讀酒店食物管理課程，三年後學成回港，任職富麗華酒店公關部，後進入政府新聞處擔任新聞官，做了七年便退下，當全職作家及家庭主婦，並移居加拿大。

Strikes a chord
Strikes a chord
| This is a story about learning. It talks about a 24-year-old girl who went to college at 14 and became a phD researcher. She was devastated to find out that her boyfriend was actually a serial killer. In her mind, she keeps running through all the great memories she and her boyfriend had. She is a romantic girl, and she is attracted to "players". Yi Shu took time to tell how the girl heals herself (with the help of her family), from opening up to dating to her pain in dealing with memories. Finally, she met another guy, but it turns out that it was also a dangerous trap. The time, the guy is two-timing. He wanted to leave the current 50-year-old "sugar-mama" and marry the girl. Of course, it ends in tragedy. Heart-broken, the girl left for California to work in a biotech research lab, and met this totally ugly geek. She fell in love slowly but peacefully this time. Unlike the previous relationship, there was no romantic gestures or nice perks, just simple friendship..completely opposite of what she went for before. I can relate to the story about how risky love can be. I appreciate the ending that she grew up and realize what she wants and enjoy simple moments. It is important that it is a comfortable relationship. |
