While Korean idols dominating our Japanese music charts is nothing new, the presence is especially strong this year. Claiming three spots in the top ten,
EXO leads the pack with the
CBX unit's debut album coming in first, and
Coming Over, last year's best-selling single, still charting high. K-pop top seller
BTS is right behind in second and third, while

Anno Hideaki's Godzilla reboot.
Derek Yee's wuxia remake
Sword Master edged out other higher-profile Chinese action blockbusters like
Dante Lam's
Operation Mekong and
Benny Chan's
Call of Heroes for third place. Meanwhile,
Peter Chan's 90s classic
Comrades, Almost a Love Story pops back onto the bestsellers thanks to its long-awaited Blu-ray release. Perhaps the most surprising entry in the top ten is the Hong Kong indie
Utopians directed by
Scud, whose provocative queer films have a loyal following,
Descendants of the Sun love is still going strong in more ways than one. Last year's top-selling Korean drama holds onto first place in the first half of 2017, while this year's most-talked-about K-Drama, the
Gong Yoo-starring fantasy
Goblin, settles for second. The 2016 Chinese gay youth web drama
Addicted also stays on the chart at third. Other hot-topic Korean series like
