The below rankings are based on sales of movie, music, TV and book releases on YesAsia.com from January 1 to June 30, 2021. Sales of all editions and versions of the same title are summed up to determine the total sales and ranking of each title.

BEST-SELLING K-POP RELEASES

SHINee's back to top our K-pop bestsellers with Don't Call Me and repackage album Atlantis. Besides SHINee, the chart is dominated by other SM artists including EXO, Baek Hyun and NCT Dream. JYP artists continue to go strong, with Twice at #3, ITZY breaking into the top ten for the first time, and Stray Kids climbing back up with their 2019 release Clé 2: Yellow Wood. Dreamcatcher and ATEEZ also secure positions in the top ten with their latest albums.

BEST-SELLING C-POP RELEASES

WayV maintains their title as our best-selling C-pop artist by claiming two spots in the top ten – Kick Back at #1 and Take Over The Moon – Sequel at #10. The original soundtrack of hit drama Word of Honor is in third place, while Roman Tam and Jacky Cheung's remastered records rank fifth and eighth, respectively. Cantopop singers Joey Yung, Hins Cheung, Hana Kuk and Gin Lee each obtain a spot on the chart, and rising star Yang Yu Teng is the only Taiwan artist to make it into the top ten.

BEST-SELLING J-POP RELEASES

Releases by Korean idols sweep the top ten spots in Japan music. NCT 127's Loveholic album grabs first place, and their 2019 album is still charting high. Just released in mid-June, BTS's best-of album comes in second, followed by EXO member Baek Hyun's Japan solo debut and the latest Japanese releases from ATEEZ, Seventeen and The Boyz. Stray Kids' three best-selling entries from last year impressively all stay in the top ten.

BEST-SELLING MOVIES

Despite only being released in June, Herman Yau and Andy Lau's Shock Wave 2 quickly leapt to the front of the pack to become our best-selling film at the mid-year. Andy Lau has another film, Find Your Voice, in the top five. Guan Hu's war epic The Eight Hundred ranks second, while Korean crime actioner Deliver Us From Evil with Lee Jung Jae and Hwang Jung Min comes in third. Taiwan drama Dear Tenant starring Golden Horse Best Actor winner Morning Mo is in the fifth spot, and Japan's biggest film of all time, Demon Slayer the Movie: Mugen Train, settles for seventh. Two older Hong Kong entries, Viva Erotica and I Love Maria, make the top ten thanks to new Blu-ray releases.

BEST-SELLING TV DRAMAS

BL owns half of the TV chart. As the rare Japanese drama to get an English-subtitled release, the sweet fantasy romance Cherry Magic! Thirty Years of Virginity Can Make You a Wizard?! starring Akaso Eiji and Machida Keita comes in first, while Thai BL series Still 2gether, the sequel to 2gether, is at #6. Taiwan BL franchise HIStory maintains its three spots from last year, and K-Dramas What's Wrong with Secretary Kim, Goblin and Moon Lovers also remain in the top ten. The Chinese remake of Your Home is My Business starring Sun Li caps off the top ten.

BEST-SELLING CHINESE BOOKS

Books from the hit Taiwan BL series We Best Love take four spots in the top ten, and star Yang Yu Teng's first photobook also comes in fourth. Meanwhile, Mo Xiang Tong Xiu has two BL period novels in the top five: last year's top seller Mo Dao Zu Shi which inspired The Untamed, and Heaven Official's Blessing which has been adapted into animation. A Yi Shu novel comes in eighth, and photobooks from the film Your Named Engraved Herein and HIStory3 series complete the top ten.
