The below rankings are based on sales of movie, music, TV and book releases on YesAsia.com from January 1 to June 30, 2023. Sales of all editions and versions of the same title are summed up to determine the total sales and ranking of each title.

BEST-SELLING K-POP RELEASES

Twice, who has ranked among our top-selling K-pop artists every year since 2016, leads the K-pop bestseller chart with their 12th mini-album. SHINee occupies three spots in the top ten, with their group album at #2, and Key and Onew's solo albums at #3 and #7. Their SM Entertainment labelmates Kai and NCT 127 are also in the top ten. MAMAMOO subunit MAMAMOO+, popular boy groups ATEEZ and Stray Kids, and super rookie IVE all secured spots in our K-pop bestsellers.

BEST-SELLING J-POP RELEASES

K-pop idol groups grab eight spots in the top ten Japanese music releases, with NCT Dream's first Japan single coming in first. Girl groups LE SSERAFIM and Billlie's Japan debut singles also make the list, along with the latest releases from Stray Kids, ATEEZ, STAYC and Twice. HYBE JAPAN group &TEAM's debut EP and Seventeen's first Japan EP, both of which ranked among 2022's bestsellers, remain on the chart. J-pop queen Hamasaki Ayumi continues to represent with her 18th album rounding out the top ten.

BEST-SELLING C-POP RELEASES

Hins Cheung tops Chinese music bestsellers with his well-received The Next 20 Hins Live in Hong Kong concert video. New-generation Hong Kong singer MC Cheung follows in second place with his sophomore album, while his "Warner Music duo" partner Hung Kaho ranks eighth. A Leslie Cheung commemorative album and Dave Wang's 35th anniversary album come in third and fourth, respectively. Terence Lam remarkably grabs two entries with his album and concert. Jay Chou, Jason Chan and Hua Chenyu each claim one spot in the top ten.

BEST-SELLING MOVIES

If there's one constant that holds true every year for movie bestsellers it would be: Donnie Yen. Even the Dayo Wong-led comedy Table for Six, the third biggest Hong Kong film of all time, can only settle for second after Donnie's wuxia vehicle Sakra. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever comes in third on the strong sales of the Japan Version 4K UHD MovieNEX Blu-ray release. The rest of the top ten are Hong Kong across the board, including three films starring members of mega boy band MIRROR – Hong Kong Family with Edan Lui, Chilli Laugh Story with Edan and Anson Lo, and Mama's Affair with Keung To and Jer Lau. Acclaimed films Limbo and The Sparring Partner are also in the top ten.

BEST-SELLING TV DRAMAS

To the surprise of no one, BL dramas occupy most of the TV bestsellers chart. The sizzling 2023 Thai romance Love in the Air starring Boss and Noeul comes out on top. It's followed by hits of previous years like We Best Love, Semantic Error, My Beautiful Man and HIStory series titles, plus the new Taiwan BL series My Tooth Your Love from the makers of WBL. The other new entry is mainland Chinese series Challenges at Midlife, a contemporary relationship drama from Daylight Entertainment starring Yolanda Yuan and Lei Jiayin.

BEST-SELLING CHINESE BOOKS

With this year being Hong Kong band Beyond's 40th anniversary, Beyond the Dream tops our Chinese books bestsellers with recollections of the legendary band and late frontman Wong Ka Kai. Last year's bestselling author Yi Shu continues to have a significant presence with three novels in the top ten Chinese books. The Japanese animated film The First Slam Dunk has been a blockbuster success around Asia since its release, and THE FIRST SLAM DUNK re:SOURCE, a book of Inoue Takehiko's illustrations and text for the film, has also been in high demand. Taiwan BL drama photobooks are still popular, with We Best Love and My Tooth Your Love making the list.
