The below rankings are based on sales of movie, music, TV and book releases on YesAsia.com from January 1 to June 30, 2024. Sales of all editions and versions of the same title are summed up to determine the total sales and ranking of each title.

BEST-SELLING K-POP RELEASES

Dropping her first record in three years, IU not only took over digital music charts, but also our K-pop bestseller chart with her sixth mini-album The Winning! (G)I-DLE and Twice secure the #2 and #3 spots in the top ten, while Loossemble and ARTMS – both composed of former Loona members – follow at #4 and #5. ATEEZ, IVE and NCT DREAM all sold well in the first half of 2024, and Mamamoo's Moon Byul and Astro's Cha Eun Woo both claim spots with their solo releases.

BEST-SELLING J-POP RELEASES

Boy bands occupy eight spots in the top ten Japanese music releases, starting with K-pop super rookie ZEROBASEONE's Japan debut single. Also represented are ATEEZ, ENHYPEN, SHINee, Snow Man, &TEAM, NCT Wish with their debut single, and Stray Kids whose 2022 album is still charting in the top ten. Utada Hikaru's first all-time best album unsurprisingly ranks high at #3, and SCANDAL breaks into our top ten for the first time.

BEST-SELLING C-POP RELEASES

Terence Lam, who has been one of our best-selling Chinese artists for three years straight, tops the C-pop chart in the first half of 2024 with his album ISFP. Leslie Cheung and Joey Yung continue to take top positions, along with Warner Music stars MC Cheung and Panther Chan who come in fourth and fifth, respectively. WayV ranks sixth with their fifth mini-album, while Sandy Lam, Twins and Sodagreen each secure a spot on the list. MIRROR's Jer Lau makes it to the top ten with his solo LP I am the I.

BEST-SELLING MOVIES

Japan has been keeping Marvel movie collectors happy with 4K Ultra HD and 3D Blu-ray combos that regularly top our Blu-ray chart, and in the first half of 2024, The Marvels became our top-selling film thanks to the Japan Version Blu-ray release. Oscar-winning monster blockbuster Godzilla Minus One manages to come in second with its non-subtitled Japan releases. There are two other very different Japanese films in the top ten: the PreCure 20th anniversary anime feature and Kore-eda Hirokazu’s Monster. Wang Yibo's breaking-themed film One and Only ranks highest among Chinese films ahead of Hong Kong crime thrillers Death Notice, The Goldfinger and The White Storm 3. Two films in last year's top ten sellers – Anson Lo-led horror It Remains and espionage drama Hidden Blade – remain to round out the list.

BEST-SELLING TV DRAMAS

BL dramas are still dominating the TV chart, with last year's best-selling Korean drama A Shoulder to Cry On rising to the overall top seller in the first half of 2024. Many other BL titles from last year and beyond continue to chart including We Best Love, HIStory3: Trapped, Semantic Error, Love in the Air and My School President. The two new releases on the list are Taiwan BL drama Kiseki: Dear to Me from the makers of We Best Love and Thai BL drama Only Friends from GMMTV. The only non-BL entries are the perennially popular Chinese period drama Nirvana in Fire and the 2016 Korean action romance The K2.

BEST-SELLING CHINESE BOOKS

Photobooks of Taiwan BL dramas and actors take up over half of the top ten Chinese books list. There are photobooks of Unknown and its stars Chris Chiu and Hong Hong Xuan, Kiseki: Dear to Me and stars Nat Chen and Louis Chiang, plus You Are Mine's Parker Mao. Male photobooks by Taiwan photographer Timothy continue to be hot sellers. Jet Li's autobiography and a Yi Shu novel also make the top ten.
