YesAsia Editorial Description

Yuen Woo Ping knows action - and he's been at it long enough to prove it. Known for his work on The Matrix (1999) and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (2000), Yuen also directed the enormously entertaining 1982 martial arts comedy The Miracle Fighters, starring his brothers Yuen Yat Choh, Yuen Cheung Yan, Yuen Shun Yi and Yuen Jan Yeung. Martial arts student Shu Gut (Yuen Yat Choh) is mistaken for the crown prince of the Imperial Court, and is enlisted by the villainous Sorcerer Bat (Yuen Shun Yi) to attempt world domination. But the faux prince is not so enthused about the new arrangement. Luckily, he finds help from the Old Man (Leung Ka Yan) and Old Woman (Yuen Cheung Yan), mystical neighbors who know some crazy and magical martial arts - with an emphasis on the word "crazy"!

Miracle Fighters is not known for a stellar plot or gripping intrigue, but instead entertains in nearly every other way imaginable. The film possesses an odd sense of humor but also boundless imagination, and features hilarious action sequences that must be seen to be believed. Yuen Woo Ping and his brothers give the action a supernatural theme, but also a comedic one, with numerous surprising, action-packed, and comic set pieces that haven't lost their ability to entertain even decades later. Collectively known as the Yuen Clan, Yuen and his brothers were responsible for many of Hong Kong Cinema's most entertaining and inventive action films, including Buddhist Fist, Dreadnaught, and Legend of a Fighter. Perhaps most famously, Yuen Woo Ping directed his own father, Simon Yuen Siu Tien in the 1978 Jackie Chan classic Drunken Master.

That weird magical kung-fu Customer Review Rated Bad 4 - 4 out of 10
A touch of that weird magical kung-fu acrobats and somewhat corny humor & poof, here's a movie for you. This left me more with a furrowed brow than anything else but somehow entertaining in that hazed, confusion kind of way. I may have to re-visit this but nothing super impressionable in my book.

The Miracle Fighters Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
Bat Man Vs. Spiritual Kung Fu !!!

The Yuen clan does it again. Whacky antics and fierce kung fu combine to thrill the mind and dazzle the mind as the evil bat battles the holy spirit.

Will the good spirit vanquish the evil bat?

Great action for those who love drunkard kung fu movies and off-beat humor.
