Over a year after ICKY, KARD finally drops their seventh mini-album Where To Now? (Part.1: Yellow Light)! J.Seph, BM, So Min and Ji Woo give it a whirl in the album for some new music styles they’ve never tried before.
KARD starts off the summer album in a chill and light mood with the intro Waste My Time (Track 1). As the opening track, the tropical pop plug expresses how we want to spend time with our loved ones forever: "I know it's insane but I can't wait to let you waste my time." Lead single Tell My Momma (Track 2) is not as powerful as their previous title tracks, but it comes with an addictive melody and interesting lyrics that no one should miss out. So Min and Ji Woo sing "When you loving me just like that (like that) / Baby there's no going back (it’s true) / When I tell my mama about you"; while BM and J.Seph respond with "Your momma love me but yo daddy doubtful / Said Break her heart, I'm going homicidal" and “I'm into your demeanor sophisticated (ma lady) / I really wanna show you off." They return to their strong and edgy ambience in Boombox (Track 3), an upbeat electropop jam about feeling the vibe and clicking with their partner in dynamic beats. Produced by Ryan Jhun and Chaz Mishan, hip-hop tune SHIMMY SHIMMY (Track 4) boosts confidence with its self-empowering lines: "They say you do not take the cookie out the jar. I don't follow rules when I set the bar." Finally comes the outro SPIN (Track 5), a R&B reggae pop song that keeps the listener in an exciting mood. |
