Sugisaki Hana (Bleach) is a police officer investigating the death of her friend in the suspense mystery film Kuchinai Sakura. Directed by Hara Hiroto, Kuchinai Sakura is based on a police mystery novel by The Blood of Wolves writer Yuzuki Yuko. Hagiwara Riku (My Beautiful Man), Toyohara Kosuke (Shinjuku Swan) and Yasuda Ken (Gintama) co-star in the film.

A female college student is murdered after being repeatedly stalked. An exclusive scoop in the local newspaper reveals that the police postponed accepting the victim's report and went on a recreational trip in the meantime. Moriguchi Izumi (Sugisaki Hana), who is in the prefectural police's public relations division, suspects that her best friend Chika (Morita Kokoro), a reporter at the newspaper, broke their trust to write the article. Chika tries to prove her innocence, only to be found dead under mysterious circumstances a week later. Driven by guilt and regret, Izumi vows to catch the culprit who killed Chika with her own hands.
