Based on an online novel by Yang Qianzi, the Chinese period drama A Legend of Princess Lanling (a.k.a. Princess of Lanling King) is set during the turmoil of the competing Northern Qi and Northern Zhou dynasties, and draws on the same historical setting and figures as that of the 2013 hit Lanling Wang. Singer Baby Zhang stars as Yuan Qingsuo, the sole remaining descendant of the Dragon Sect. She sets out in search of the Qingluan Mirror and Lishang Sword, treasures of the Dragon Sect that went missing during war. Legend has it that he who wields the Qingluan Mirror and Lishang Sword can rule the world, and Qingsuo must ensure that the treasures don't fall into the wrong hands. On her journey, she encounters Yuwen Yong (Peng Guanying), the King of Northern Zhou, and "Lanling Wang" Gao Changgong (Andy Chen) of Northern Qi and becomes romantically entangled with the two rivals.
