Alisa (AVCD)

A major contender for this year's newcomer awards has already emerged in Alisa, an American-Taiwanese singer poised for greatness. Having triumphed in numerous singing competitions in her teenage days, Alisa famously beat Rachel Liang in the One Million Star show last year. Now signed with Universal Music Taiwan, which regards her as "Asia's Rihanna", Alisa releases her self-titled debut album with the backing of top lyricist Lin Xi and musician Adia. The album took 17 months to record, resulting in 12 potential hits for Alisa, including the Lin Xi-penned main plug "Iron Butterfly", the Broadway-influenced "Rock Your Body", her breakout number "Hound Dog", and the retro ballad "Unexpected" (a duet with Will Pan). The Limited First Press Edition comes in AVCD format with the music video for "If There's No Tomorrow", which features Thai actor TOB (Bangkok Love Story).
