YesAsia Editorial Description

An all-star cast assembles for the hilarious and delightful Lunar New Year blockbuster All's Well, Ends Well, a mixed-up comedy caper about three brothers and the women in their lives. Stephen Chow stars as Foon, a notorious womanizer who works as a radio DJ. But his plans to score big with the ladies are derailed by the appearance of Maggie Cheung, who plays a movie-obsessed fan who goes Fatal Attraction on the hapless DJ. Meanwhile, Foon's brother (Leslie Cheung) is an effeminate florist who engages in a gender-bending battle of the sexes with his cousin, the butch Teresa Mo. The two fight and fume mercilessly, but could attraction be lurking underneath? Finally, third brother Raymond Wong Bak Ming dumps his frumpy wife Sandra Ng for sexy gold digger Shelia Chan, but when his wife responds with a fabulous makeover, will he change his mind? And will anyone be able to survive the insane amount of movie parodies, ranging from Pretty Woman to Ghost to Misery, Terminator 2, and even Once Upon a Time in China? The matchless cast, non-stop gags, and silly, endearing performances makes All's Well, Ends Well a standout Hong Kong comedy that is sure to tickle - or even cripple - your funny bone!

Still funny after all these years Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
As a 1992 New Year's comedy, "All's Well End's Well" proved to be such a box office hit that it continued to run in Hong Kong theatres long after the Spring Festival had become a memory. The film tells three stories about different members of a dysfunctional family.

The story which frames the film tells of the disintegrating marriage between Moon (Raymond Wong) and frumpy Ching (Sandra Ng). Moon carries on an affair with his girlfriend Sheila (Sheila Chan), while Ching -- oblivious to her husband's affair -- throws herself into her wifely duties. Moon's brother Foon (Stephen Chow) is a womanizing radio DJ who finally meets his match when movie-obsessed Hollyok (Maggie Cheung) turns his world upside down. Moon's other brother, the effeminate So (Leslie Cheung) has a running battle with his mannish cousin Leung Mo (Teresa Mo) that takes a surprising turn when the love interests of each seek greener pastures.

Add in splendid performances by Kwan Hoi-San and Lee Heung-Kam as the clueless parents of the three brothers and "All's Well End's Well" delivers comic gold. The film's lone flaw is its overlong sequence in which Stephen Chow's character goes mad; the sequence has its funny moments, but overstays its welcome. The biggest surprise for me is the hilarious, over-the-top performance by Maggie Cheung, who is beautiful and sexy at the same time she had this viewer snorting with laughter. Twenty years after its debut "All's Well End's Well" continues to entertain.

Best Yet Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
I must commend Raymond Wong for coming up with the ever-going "All's Well That Ends Well" theme every year for Chinese New Year. Apart from All's Well That Ends Well Too (starred Leslie Cheung, Teresa Mo, Sam Hui, Ricky Hui , Rosamund Kwan, Sandra Ng and Raymond Wong himself) which I'm also billing 5stars, you must buy, watch and treasure this one cause everything else after these are simply not quite the same.

Leslie fans : Buy now before it's gone forever. I own 2 dvds (just in case one finally goes 'kaput')!!

Alls Well that Ends Well Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
One of my favourites because Leslie outshines everyone else!! His effeminate portrayal is so convincing (he puts it down to hormone imbalance in the movie) you must watch this in cantonese audio to get the full 'double meaning' and punchlines. My favourite scene is the mahjong session, also breakfast conversation among the 3 brothers, power-failure in the kitchen and when the mistress was introduced to the in-laws. Very disappointed there's no special features with interviews with Leslie, Maggie and veteran actress Lei Heong Kum and actor Kwan Shan. I'm sure they'll have something to comment about.

Go buy and laugh your head off!!

Fun time for most Customer Review Rated Bad 6 - 6 out of 10
(Have the US release, DVD in Cantonese version of this)It's a great movie with hiliarious situations but there's something about the majority of the actors that doesn't seem like there's much heart to their performances. Practically all of Stephen Chow's hijinxes carry the entire comedic aspect of the movie because of the sheer quirkiness of it all. Holds itself together.
