Released on – what else? – April 1, 2015 in Japan, April Fools brings together a sprawling ensemble cast for seven stories set on April Fools' Day, the one day of the year when it's OK to lie. Toda Erika (Prophecy) and Matsuzaka Toru (Gatchaman) star in the film's main story as a painfully shy cleaning staff and an amorous doctor who had a one-night stand. When she tries to tell him that she's pregnant, he treats it as an April Fools' joke and turns his eyes to his next target.

April Fools marks the feature film debut of TV director Ishikawa Junichi, here reuniting with Legal High screenwriter Kosawa Ryota whose credits also include the Always - Sunset on Third Street and Parasyte series. A large supporting cast that includes Yusuke Santamaria, Okada Masaki, Terajima Susumu, Nanao, Namase Katsuhisa, Kubota Masataka, Yano Masato, Koike Eiko and Furuta Arata appear in the film's various story threads.
