Starring Roger Kwok, Johnson Lee, Sin Lap Man, Raymond Cho and Sharon Chan, the 20-episode TVB comedy Awfully Lawful is a legal drama revolving around four law firm partners known as "The Top Four Mature Men" in the industry. The four of them share a close bond until Shing Ming (Raymond Cho) breaks up the brotherhood and the relationships around him.

Coming from entirely different backgrounds, the four lawyers are brought together by their business partnership. Their dynamic changes when the company is on the verge of losing its license due to Shing Ming's embezzlement. Hoping to save the company, four women intervene including Shing Ming's wife Ka Ting (Joyce Tang) and Dor Chun's (Johnson Lee) wealthy wife Lai Sa (Selena Li). When the once-carefree lives of these four middle-aged men are shaken by the scandals and lies around them, will the women in their lives bring them down or help them get their feet back up on the ground?

SHING MING (Raymond Cho) and JAZZ NAM (Pal Sinn) are both partners of a law firm, and they recruit LO SO (Kwok Chun On) and YU DOR-CHUN (Johnson Lee) as lawyers to work for them.

Though the four have distinct personalities, they have a deep-seated bond between each other. With their names becoming well-known across the industry as Top 4 mature men demonstrating distinctive images, each claims victory in lawsuits by any means necessary, winning admiration and support from most of their female clients. Unfortunately, someone embezzles public funds and puts the law firm in a crisis. Four new female lawyers from different backgrounds join the law firm, developing a world-shaking change within the firm. They are LO SO’s archrival KU KA-YING (Sharon Chan), DOR-CHUN’s wealthy wife CHUNG LAI-SA (Selena Li), housewife KU KA-TING (Joyce Tang) on behalf of her husband, and Barrister YAU MAT (Grace Wong), who gets entangled with both JAZZ and DOR-CHUN.
