Be Perfunctory (24K Gold CD)

Faye Wong's 1996 album Be Perfunctory is finally released as a complete album! Considering that at the time Faye Wong was pregnant and not going to renew her contract, Cinepoly Records decided not to release Be Perfunctory. Instead, songs from the album were released in four separate albums including 1997 EP Toy, 1997 EP Feel Free, 1997 compilation Faye For Sale and 2002 compilation Faye Best. In 2015, one of Faye Wong's fans purchased the songs' copyrights in order to release them together as a full-length album for the first time. Working with Albert Leung, Adrian Chan and C. Y. Kong, the pop diva continues the psychedelic trip-hop style of 1995 album Di-Dar in Be Perfunctory. The ten-track album includes the title song "Be Perfunctory" composed by Beyond bassist Steve Wong, the piano-driven "Undercurrent," the relaxing "Unbelievable" and "Date," the Cantonese version of Taiwan singer Emi Lee's "Decision of Love."
