The Target director Chang presents a touching story of family reunion in his third feature Canola. Yoon Yeo Jeong (Salut d'Amour) stars as an elderly sea worker whose long-lost granddaughter is played by Kim Go Eun (Coin Locker Girl). Set in Jeju Island, the cross-generational melodrama also co-stars SHINee's Min Ho in his silver screen debut, Kim Hee Won (Scarlet Innocence), Shin Eun Jung (Misaeng), actor/director Yang Ik Joon (A Quiet Dream), Ryu Jun Yeol (One Way Trip) and Park Min Ji (Now Playing).

Sea worker Gye Choon (Yoon Yeo Jeong) single-handedly took care of her granddaughter Hye Ji after her parents' death. One day, Hye Ji went missing at a bustling marketplace. Twelve years later, Gye Choon reunites with her grown-up granddaughter (Kim Go Eun), who is now a troublemaking teenager living a hard life in the streets. Troubled by her past, Hye Ji is no longer the innocent girl Gye Choon remembers.
