碑(いしぶみ)に刻まれた旧制・広島二中一年生の全生徒たち。幼くしてこの世を去った彼らの言葉が、未来を生きる子どもたちへのメッセージになる。 1969年に広島テレビで放送された「碑」(いしぶみ)を『そして父になる』でカンヌ国際映画祭審査員賞をはじめ数々の賞に輝いた是枝裕和が監督し、広島市出身の女優・綾瀬はるかが語り部を務める朗読劇としてリメイクした映画『いしぶみ』を、広島テレビ開局55年記念活動Message from Hiroshimaの一環としてDVD化。本作は、原子爆弾により、幼くして命を奪われた旧制・広島二中一年生(321人)が最後に残した言葉を読み語る朗読劇。 ――太平洋戦争末期、それまでたった一度しか空襲がなかった広島市には、東京や大阪から多くの子どもたちが疎開してきました。戦争も最終段階に入ったこの頃は、労働力不足を補うために、中学生も建物の解体作業や農作業などにかり出されました。学校で勉強できる日は少なく、夏休みもありませんでしたが、みんな日本の勝利を信じて一生懸命働きました。昭和20年8月6日は、朝から暑い夏の日でした。この日、建物の解体作業のため、朝早くから広島二中の一年生は本川の土手に集まっていました。端から、1、2、3、4、・・・と点呼を終えたその時でした。500メートル先の上空で爆発した原子爆弾が彼らの未来を一瞬にして奪ったのです。少年たちは、元気だった最後の瞬間、落ちてくる原子爆弾を見つめていました。あの日、少年たちに何が起きたのか・・・。遺族の手記に残された死にゆく彼らの最後の言葉を伝えます。英語吹き替え版85分も収録。
