Kang Ji Hwan plays a neat-freak best-selling novelist who's very particular about his coffee in the 2010 SBS drama Coffee House. His potential romantic interests are an equally demanding publisher played by Park Si Yeon (The Slingshot) and a young budding barista played by T-ara's Ham Eun Jung (Dream High). Jung Woong In (Three Men) and Park Jae Jung (Queen Seon Duk) add more corners to this charming romantic brew produced by Full House director Pyo Min Soo.

To the outside world, Jin Soo (Kang Ji Hwan) is a total gentleman, a handsome, polite, and talented writer whose novels are guarantee bestsellers. Those who have the pleasure of working with him, however, know that he's a sarcastic, nitpicking basketcase who's prone to disappear without notice. He wants his pencils sharpened just right, and his coffee brewed to perfection. His publisher and longtime friend Eun Young (Park Si Yeon) has been cleaning up after him for years, and now his new secretary Seung Yeon (Ham Eun Jung) is at the receiving end of his strange requests and habits. A bumbling coffee shop girl with no special talents, Seung Yeon wants to prove her worth, but it won't be so easy to win Jin Soo's seal of approval. But her sincere meddling may be exactly what's needed to force Jin Soo to face his painful memories and his ambiguous relationship with Eun Young.

Succeeded author who writes several best-selling books in his early ages. Everybody likes him as he has good manner. Of course, he has good manner, kind, humorous. But, just a few people know that he makes more smile if he feels bad, shows more courtesy if he doesn't like some person, spends more money if he want to leave place more early. Actually, he is very hard to please, for example even a cup of coffee, there is no cafe to make him satisfied with. So he studies himself how to make coffee, then, he only drinks his own coffee. Why these kind of difficult people keep contracts with just one publishing company? The reason is Eun-young who are difficult to deal with just like him. When Eun-young, who are workaholic and perfectionist, push him to finish the job early, though he shows temper, he still believes her ability. That's why their relation can continue. By chance, he happens to enter some shabby coffee shop in suburb. The name of coffee shop (Palace) also makes him uncomfortable. It's amateur name.

Surely, the coffee shop is far from professionalism including ballista. The ballista looks like jobless person at first sight. But, by some absurd reason, Jin-soo happen to hire her as a secretary. Frankly speaking, he doesn't need secretary. At first time, he doesn't expect anything from her. Only thing he expects is that she doesn't bother him.
