Shin-chan and the Kasukabe Defense Force hit the silver screen in the beloved animated series' 29th feature film School Mystery! The Splendid Tenkasu Academy (a.k.a. Shrouded in Mystery! The Flowers of Tenkazu Academy). Directed by Takahashi Wataru, this is the first mystery feature of the Crayon Shin-chan franchise.

Shin-chan and his friends head to the elite private school Tenkasu Academy to experience campus life for a week. Kazama hopes to officially enroll in the school with the rest of the Kusakabe Defense Force. Shin-chan is unaware of this and causes trouble as usual, leading to a fight between the two, and Kazama leaves the dormitory in anger. Shin-chan and the others later find Kazama at the defunct clock tower, with a strange bite mark on his body. When Kazama wakes up, he is decidedly less smart than he used to be. As more and more students fall victim to this unidentified biter, Shin-chan forms the Kasukabe Detective Club to get to the bottom of the mystery!
