- Is Blu-ray divided into NTSC and PAL formats?
High definition material on Blu-ray discs is generally converted to the appropriate broadcast format for your television. However, standard definition material on a Blu-ray disc - such as some video extras – is produced in either NTSC or PAL format and will not be automatically converted by your Blu-ray player.
