Sato Ryuta leads the eponymous trio of Damejin – "useless people" – in writer-director Miki Satoshi's idiosyncratic 2006 comedy. Ryosuke and his buddies Hiraji (Hida Yasuhito) and Kahoru (Nukumizu Yoichi) don't work, and more importantly, they don't want to work. Every day is summer vacation for these three loafers. One day, they hear from an old man that it's possible to just hang around and live in India without working. They decide that, well, clearly that's where they need to be. The three then come up with all kinds of ill-advised schemes (that don't involve working) in order to raise money to get themselves to India.
