  • Twelve Nights (2000) (Blu-ray) (Hong Kong Version) Blu-ray Region A Eason Chan (Actor) | Cecilia Cheung (Actor) | Stephen Fung | Au Suk Jing (Actor)
Cecilia Cheung and Eason Chan co-star in Twelve Nights, a rare drama about the life and death of an urban youth romance. The two young people meet under tough circumstances (she's just broken up, and he's the boyfriend of her friend), and begin a quick, passionate courtship. However, over the course of twelve separate, pivotal nights, the relationship begins to dissolve. The two go from ardent initial lovers to distinctly separate individuals with different goals, dreams and inner emotions – and the death of their brief love can be traced to the anger, selfishness, jealousy, self-doubt and obsession displayed on those twelve fateful nights. Directed and written by screenwriter Aubrey Lam, and produced by acclaimed filmmaker Peter Chan, Twelve Nights tackles the lives and loves of young Hong Kong urbanites with an intelligence and thoughtfulness far removed from the frenetic, flashy pace of typical Hong Kong commercial cinema.
