Director Hosoda Mamoru returns with another magical animated tale of family and fantasy in Mirai. Four-year-old Kun is an imaginative young boy who loves trains and lives with his parents and dog. One day, his mother brings home a baby sister, Mirai. Though excited at first, Kun soon grows jealous about Mirai taking up his parents' attention and lashes out with naughty behavior and tantrums. During these anxious times, Kun keeps having strange encounters around his house and garden, including a man transformed from his dog, people of the past, and a school girl who claims to be Mirai from the future.

  • A Chinese Ghost Story (The Tsui Hark Animation) (1997) (Blu-ray) (Hong Kong Version) Blu-ray Region A Tsui Hark (Producer) | Anita Yuen | Jan Lamb | Vivian Lai
From 1987 to 1991, Tsui Hark produced the seminal A Chinese Ghost Story trilogy of live-action films that are essential viewings for all fans of Hong Kong cinema. The visionary filmmaker expanded the supernatural love story to animation in 1997 with A Chinese Ghost Story: The Tsui Hark Animation. One of Hong Kong's first and greatest animated features, A Chinese Ghost Story: The Tsui Hark Animation retells the famous tale of wandering tax collector Ning who encounters an enchanting maiden ghost and then her nefarious tree demon master. While drawing from the same source material as the live-action films, the animated version brings its own spin to the star-crossed love story and battle between good and evil. Tsui's script adds more comedic and satirical elements while the animation dazzles with bright and imaginative renderings of Ning's journey into the world of ghosts.

  • On Happiness Road (2017) (Blu-ray) (Hong Kong Version) Blu-ray Region A Guey Lun Mei | Chen Bo Zheng | Liao Hui Chun | Sung Hsin Yin (Writer, Director)
Happiness is a road, not a destination.

Written and directed by Sung Hsin Yin, On Happiness Road won Best Animation Feature at the 55th Golden Horse Awards and the Grand Prize, Audience Award and Best Animation at the 20th Taipei Film Awards. Featuring voice acting by Guey Lun Mei, Wei Te Sheng, Chen Bo Zheng and Liao Hui Chun, the warm and nostalgic animation follows a woman's return to Taiwan after years abroad and her memories of childhood and coming of age. On Happiness Road is both a bittersweet love letter to Taiwan and an intimate yet universal story about growing up, looking back and forging forward on the bumpy road of life.

Lin Shu Chi (voiced by Guey Lun Mei) was born in Taiwan, on April 5, 1975, the same day that Chiang Kai-shek passed way. As a child, she lived on Happiness Road and dreamed of changing the world. After she grew up, she didn't change the world but her dream would eventually take her far from home to the U.S. Years later, she returns to Taipei upon news of her grandmother's death, and reflects on how people and places have changed and not changed over the years.
