Directed by the late Fukasaku Kinji, international cult hit Battle Royale is one of the most shocking and controversial films of recent years. Based on a Takami Koushun novel, this violent and visceral film takes a Lord of the Flies scenario to modern Japan, telling a tragically brutal and gut-wrenching story amidst the thrilling carnage and bloodshed. Led by Kitano Takeshi, this landmark film launched the careers of a new class of young stars, including Fujiwara Tatsuya (Death Note), Maeda Aki (Out of this World), Kuriyama Chiaki (Kill Bill), Tsukamoto Takashi (A Song to the Sun), Shibasaki Kou (Sinking of Japan), and Ando Masanobu (Nightmare Detective).

To counter increasing youth violence, the Japanese government has invoked the Battle Royale Act as a warning to the nation's youth. A high school class is unwillingly drafted into a deadly game of survival. Taken to a remote island, the teenagers are each given one weapon and a deadline – kill each other or be killed. Only the winner can leave the island alive.

"Everyone's first love is great as an epic movie."

In 1988, as Taiwan's era of martial law draws to an end, boarding school boys A-Han (Edward Chen) and Birdy (Tseng Jing Hua) bask in each other's company while teetering on the edge of something more than friendship. A-Han confronts his feelings for Birdy but the latter pushes him away.

Directed by Patrick Liu Kuang Hui, the blockbuster gay youth romance Your Name Engraved Herein captures the tempests of young love and coming of age in a time of both change and repression. • The Coachman (Blu-ray) (Korea Version) Blu-ray Region A Kim Seung Ho (Actor) | Kang Dae Jin (Director) | Huang Hae (Actor) | Shin Young Kyun (Actor)
Directed by Kang Dae Jin, The Coachman was the first Korean film to win a major international award, the Silver Bear from the 1961 Berlin International Film Festival. A sensitive human drama, The Coachman tells the tale of a single father (Kim Seung Ho), who makes ends meet operating a horse-drawn cart, while watching over his two sons and two daughters. Korea is rapidly changing in the wake of the Korean War, with modernization and the advent of the automobile threatening to condemn the coachman to obsolescence. Meanwhile, the children face their own issues, from abusive spouses to petty crime, and the father begins to question if this brave new Korea has a place for him anymore. A touching film encompassing hope, heartache, and the crushing reality of a changing world, The Coachman easily earns its reputation as a Korean Cinema classic.

This edition comes with a 68-page booklet and a postcard set.
