The Making of an Ordinary Woman, which won Best Mini-Series at the 55th Golden Bell Awards, returns two years later with a second season that lives up to the popularity and acclaim of the first. Child actress Wu Yi Han reprises as the protagonist in her younger years, and Lan Wei Hua, Joseph Hsia, Wayne Song, Yang Li Yin, Yu Zi Yu and Bamboo Chen are also back.

  • Seqalu: Formosa 1867 (2021) (DVD) (Ep. 1-12) (End) (English Subtitled) (Taiwan Version) DVD Region 3 Sean Huang (Actor) | Hsu Hao Hsiang (Actor) | Fabio Julien Victor Grangeon (Actor) | Camake Valaule (Actor)
One of most the anticipated Taiwan dramas of 2021, the historical epic Seqalu: Formosa 1867 revolves around the Rover incident, when conflicts broke out among Taiwan's aboriginal tribes, the U.S. government and the Qing government over the killing of sailors of a shipwrecked American ship. Adapted from Chen Yao Chang's novel Lady Butterfly of Formosa, the ambitious PTS series interweaves historical and fictional characters and elements to shed light on the complex cross-section of different powers, tribes and ethnicities pulled into the escalating turmoil of the time. Directed by Tsao Jui Yuan (A Touch of Green), the cast of Seqalu: Formosa 1867 includes Chris Wu Kang Ren, Jenny Wen, Camake Valaule, Masiswagger Zingrur, Fabio Grangeon, Huang Jian Wei, Sean Huang and Andrew Chau.

On March 12, 1867, the American merchant ship Rover shipwrecked off the coast of southern Taiwan. When the ship's survivors went ashore, they were all killed by members of the indigenous Seqalu nation who saw the foreigners as invaders into their sacred territory. The U.S. sent a convoy to Taiwan to investigate, but were unable to get results from Qing officials. The U.S. then dispatched two military ships to the region, but American soldiers unfamiliar with the terrain were ambushed instead. With the diplomatic situation between the U.S. and Qing worsening, general Liu Ming Deng leads forces into aboriginal lands to assist the American convoy and expand Qing jurisdiction in the process. This exacerbates ethnic conflicts already long brewing in the region among different aboriginal tribes and Hokkien and Hakka settlers.
