導演：白景瑞

　　銀芳為北洋軍閥彭大帥之獨女，為求全國統一，終於革命伙伴及愛人尚飛共同以結婚為由，由尚飛刺殺了大帥，也因此銀芳不能嫁與殺父之人，而報憾嫁與好友李晚村並從此背負著「殺父」的陰影。

　　晚村任上海市政府秘書。結婚數載，生一子名曉嵐，夫妻感情和諧。「八一三」淞滬保衛戰後，晚村竟成為日本特務，暗地做出賣國家民族之勾當。為銀芳屢勸不聽後，為國民族的大義乃置毒於茶，誘仗晚村飲下使其身亡。至此心理上於又蒙上「殺夫」的陰影。

　　「我子」李曉嵐，在母親的呵護下成人，曉嵐交了一個很好的女友，是某大建築公司董事長的女兒，芳名菁菁。雙方家長議婚之時，菁菁之父竟是當年彭大帥手下的曹副官，如今是建築業的大享﹗曹董事長知道銀芳「殺父」的往事，拒於成婚﹗曉嵐對母親甚不諒解。又一無賴，找到銀芳意圖敲詐「殺夫」事實。

　　曉嵐終於知道了，心目中母親的偶像﹗是慈祥、溫和、最善良的。而今一變為「殺人狂﹗」他神智迷惘，無法再面對母親，離家出走，棄老母於孤苦無依，深受老年失子之悲慟。而銀芳默默地承受一切，她只覺得這一生她該做的都做了，人一生也只求個「於心無愧」而已。

 WHAT AN EXTRAORDINARY CLASSIC! Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
This remarkable classic was well directed by Bai Jing Rui and superbly acted by Ke Jun Hsiang and Ivy Ling Po! The script is phenomenal and I am so touched by the dignified love in this movie. Ivy's character as Jing Fung must be very challenging as she has to portray as a young lass, married woman and an aged mother. Again, she does it flawlessly. The unconditional motherly love at the end of the movie says it all that mothers are the greatest in the world! Highly recommended and grab it while still available!

 Cinemascope screen format Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
I am glad I picked up this dvd as the screen format is not 4:3 as advertised. The image is presented in true cinemascope or 2.35:1. This is a joy since the vcd (China version) has the screen format as 4:3 and is missing a lot of image left and right. This dvd looks better and sharper. The colours are more vibrant even though the print is still scratched. Still, Ivy Ling Po looks wonderful here and this movie must be in every fan's collection as her performance in this movie is unforgettable having to age from a young teenaged girl to an old woman. She really deserved her acting award for this movie. I can watch this movie over and over again despite having no English subtitles. Grab this dvd now!

richly deserved Best Actress award! Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Ivy Ling Po won a best actress award for this role and it is easy to understand why as she has to portray a teenaged girl to an old woman in this excellent movie. Ling Po draws upon her vast acting experience to "become" her character.
After a few minutes, I was so taken in by her acting that I forgot I was watching Ivy Ling Po, the famed male impersonator act. Instead I was drawn into the plot and sympathised with the character she was playing. With this movie, she has again touched my heart like no other Chinese actress has. There may be others who are more beautiful or more fashionable but when it comes down to
realistic portrayals, none comes close to her. Another feather in her cap for beloved Asian Movie Queen Ivy Ling Po who is ably assisted by Asian Movie King Ker Chun Hsiung. This is their only pairing which makes it even more special. Definitely recommended - click to buy without hesitation!

The Greatest Performance Of Her Life Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Asian movie queen Ivy Ling Po gives the performance of her life in this awardwinning film having to age from a teenaged girl to an old woman. She is ably backed by Asian movie king Ke Jun Hsiung. This is their only pairing which makes this film the more special. Ivy Ling Po won a Golden Horse award for best actress in this film if I am not mistaken. This vcd comes without English subtitles and in the wrong aspect ratio for a movie shot in cinemascope. But what the heck......we are lucky to have it!
