More than 2000 years ago, the First Emperor of Qin dynasty dispatched 500 boys and girls overseas to search for the elixir of life. General Meng Tian Fang fell in love with one of the girls called Dong'er, which violated the royal commandment. Unable to avoid being punished, Dong'er secretly gave the elixir they had found to Meng and then threw herself into a fire while Meng was made into a terracotta warrior to guard the Qin Mausoleum.
2000 years later, an actress called Zhu Lili fell into the Qin Mausoleum and met the revived General Meng, Zhu closely resembled Dong'er and so Meng immediately fell in love with her to continue his romance while wholeheartedly guarding the Mausoleum.
Remarks: Everyon has his own perseverance in life, to be loyal to himself or someone else. This story is not about chivalry nor tender love but an unchangeable belief.

Demand for DVD !! Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
This is one of my favourite movies of all time. It is strange that there is no DVD version of this movie which many of us are looking forward to have one. I hope representatives of Yesasia will raise this request on behalf of the customers to urge the publisher to produce DVD for this movie. Looking forward to watch and own a copy of this DVD soon in both mandarin and cantonese languages.

Gong Li shows a good knack for comedy, it's a shame she doesn't get to display it more often. Zhang Yimou is also very good (liked the sunglasses) as the General. I first saw this in a theatrical screening and the video doesn't do the film justice. This DVD is also in pretty poor condition, but I'd still recommend picking it up. It's worth it.

I hate to say this but this was the worst movie I've ever seen. I absolutely adore Zhang Yimou and Gong Li. I have several of their movies and I love them all, except for this one. I suppose this movie shows where their careers got started. This being said, I'm glad I own it for the collection, and I'm glad I only paid $5.99 for it. Just so you know, Zhang Yimou did not direct this, and you can tell. He actually stars in it, which would have been cool in a better movie.

I've been seeing this movie over 10 years and over a 100 times till now I still always pick it to watch in my free time. This is my greatest favorite movie! I can't never forget the warrior's love story. His love really impressed me.*( )*
I got a VDO tape since 10 years ago, then 100 times passed, its reel had been shrinked !_! And a VCD is the lowest quality material! PLEASE!...FOR GOD'S SAKE, PLEASE PRODUCE THIS MOVIE ON DVD!!!!!!

I cant believe that not only is there no DVD version but the vcd version is out of stock!! I saw this film over ten years ago and i was only quite young but its stuck in my mind as one of the most beautiful and moving love stories from Hong Kong cinema for a long time. Please bring this out on DVD!!!
