Relive the golden days of the 1980s with Frozen, the latest film by Gallants co-director Derek Kwok. Never a director that repeats himself, Kwok has concocted a high-concept fantasy drama that combines a sentimental 80s romance with a touching drama about a young woman bonding with her previously cryogenically frozen mother. In addition to an attractive cast led by Janice Man (La Lingerie), Aarif Lee (Echoes of the Rainbow), and pop singer Janice Vidal (in her feature film debut), heavenly king Leon Lai also turns in a serious supporting performance as a pivotal character. Packed with 1980s nostalgia, the heartwarming film is driven by the music of Hong Kong mega-star Leslie Cheung. In addition to a medley of Leslie hits performed by Leon himself, the famous ballad Deeply in Love With You (which is also the film's Chinese title) is given a touching rendition by Aarif and Janice Vidal.

American-born Chinese girl Wingz (Janice Vidal) goes to Hong Kong with her father (Alfred Cheung) and her grandfather (Ti Lung) for a scientific conference. When her father abruptly passes away, Wingz is given a key to a lab housing the cryogenically frozen body of her mother Monica (Janice Man), whom was cryogenically preserved after she was injured in a car accident with her boyfriend Kit (Aarif Lee). After being accidentally awoken by Wingz, Monica ventures out into this new unfamiliar world to look for Kit, Wingz's real father. During the search, Wingz learns about her mother's romance with the young Kit and the obstacles they faced.

Wingz never knows her mother. Ever since she was a toddler, her scientist grandfather have weaved the tale that she works for Santa Claus. Not until Wingz turns twenty does the incredible truth finally dawns on her, when she accidentally opens a freezing chamber in his grandfather's laboratory and resurrects a mysterious young woman inside. The woman is none other than Wing's long lost mother, Gigi, who, unbeknownst to her daughter, has been cyronically frozen since a fatal car accident twenty years ago. To make up for lost time, she sets off with Wingz search of her boyfriend, who happens to be Wingz's biological father.
