The lead singer's voice is natural and refreshing though it is a far way from "great" standards. She still needs alot of work! However, I really like her! She's far from the Avex Trax rule "get plastic surgery to look perfect" that they usually force on every Asian girl who joins their label. Her looks are actually realistic and, for the first time with a Japanese artist, I feel she actually LOOKS it. She's very pretty in a simple and refreshing way...but her voice still needs alot of work. The melodies are also pretty plain, so there's always room for MUCH improvement there. =) don't worry! I have faith in them.
At their current state, I don't even want to hear any comparisons to Every Little Thing, Do As Infinity, or day after tomorrow because that is degrading to those musical masterpiece groups! They are the underdogs and are starting pretty low, but hopefully...their full potential will be reached as they commence further in their career! November 10, 2008 I'm sorry, i don't see it! O_oEveryone says "BoA copycat", but I truly see nothing alike. Meilin has adapted her own style...and I don't see what is so terrible about her. She's actually very pretty and HEALTHY too unlike the skinny twigs dancing around in Asia. I think she's refreshing and she really caught my eye during a performance of "Liar" on TV. She's sweet, simple, and cute...besides! She's new. Give her a fair chance. =/ For a debut, this is actually pretty good and catchy. Her voice is nice...needs improvement and it's far from "BoA" vocal standards...but it is nowhere near "terrible". For the cheap price and circumstances, I think this is worth buying! You go, Meilin. October 28, 2008 no thank you....Well, I love Rain! I think he's talented, cute, and fun...but I'm not feelin' this!! =( ..sorry...Alot of Korean artists have already had problems with originality in the past and this is a perfect example of why. He's dancing around, working a "bad boy" image with some suggestive lyrics placed here & there, singing in high falsetto sounding like a sissy...just like a Justin Timberlake clone. I know he worked with the same people that worked with Justin, but this is just ridiculous! If I wanted someone like Justin Timberlake, I would go buy his CDs!!!! (>_<) The title track, "Rainism", is probably the most amatuer song of his career. The silly "I'm gonna be a bad boy" that repeats itself constantly throughout the song really makes me shutter with embarassment! Mmmhmm...Rain is dancing better than ever...uh-huh, his singing has improved...but he has thrown his originality out the window with this release. JYP probably is proud considering alot of Korean artists usually want to make a breakthrough to the US & this is the closest Rain has come..but at what costs? If most non-Korean fads were to pick this up in America, most likely...they would consider him a "wannabe Justin" like Justin was considered a "wannabe Usher". I perfer his past releases and this one makes me so disappointed... (T_T) I'm so sorry to say.....
Please don't stone me for this because everyone has a different oppinion and..mine is negative.... =( sadly..I had high hopes for this....lately, Rain has been desperately trying to reach the US...and perhaps the people who worked with him figured this was a smart move..?? October 15, 2008 No.1 most recommended Japanese single!Right now, the most beautiful single right now is Kanon's!! (^_____________________^) Well worth the small price it is asking..Oh my goodness! Gorgeous. Her debut single was slightly rough - although still dark & beautiful...it had some sour vocals on certain areas. On this one though, you get to see Kanon's beautiful, enchanting vocals with her gorgeous cello playing...all harmonizing perfectly in a dark melody. If you liked her last one even a little bit, you will LOVE this one. Well, I'm buying! =p I think if you like gothic lolita, opera, orchestra pieces, and a bit of gloomy-ness.. XD you should order. It's truly something incredible. The no.1 single coming out right now...in my oppinion!! (^.^) Kanon, I look forward to your debut album...and you're definitely a favorite artist of mine now! Hehehe! The songs are basically all-ballad with some small upbeat numbers (still retaining a ballad-feel)..so those who LOVE Korean ballads DEFINITELY need this. Dong Hee has an incredible voice - strong, emotional, soft, deep, and beautiful. It has its own unique sound & sets her apart from most Korean ballad-only singers. The songs are heartfelt and beautiful. While some sound too much alike, it doesn't matter because her voice makes it memorable. The booklet is very high quality & her pictures are BEAUTIFUL. (n_n) Eeeeee! I LOVE IT! I was so excited to recieve it & surprised by how nice & classy everything looked. She's a beauty and her voice is too. When first hearing this album, I was very shocked! (0.0) It's WAAAAY better than I had hoped. Most all the tracks follow in the "space" theme for the album which really gets you in the mood (I CANT WAIT FOR A CONCERT DVD FOR THIS ALBUM)! I was surprised at how S.H.E are really dedicated Jade Valerie/Sweetbox/GEO fans as they covered 2 of Jade's latest songs - "Crush" (track 3) and "Like A Bird" (track 5)~!! Yayyy! (n_n) I like Jade's "Like A Bird" better, but S.H.E did a GREAT job. They made "Miss Universe" sound alot better than Jade's "Crush" since it just wasn't Jade's normal style & S.H.E suits it better..so I've grown to love it! I think it fits the album's theme as well! (^________^) Kudos to both S.H.E & beautiful Jade Valerie!!!!!
I really love the album's dance tracks because they all sound really interesting & weird! *hee-hee!* I just think S.H.E really outdid themselves with this release. The packaging is cool too! Really long & weird with a beautiful slipcase...and then, you open it up to see the CD, DVD, photobook, single, + a sticker! The DVD was so crazy!! XD Ella and Fahrenheit were hilarious dressed as cows. *another hee-hee!* =p I'm not sure bubblegum-pop fans will like it as it leans more dance-hiphop, but I LOVED it. Truly.crazy.over.it!!!!!!!!!!! (O_O) The "Miss Universe" MV is truly S.H.E's best to me! It's dance-y, futuristic, and fun~!!!!!!!!! (^__________^) As I said before, CANNOT WAIT for a concert showing of this. aaaahhhh~!!!!!!!
All 3 girls shined, but Ella & Selina the most. A+ album from my standings, but everyone has their own oppinion! ;) I think to really get a full grasp on it, you should order & experience it yourself...because I was estatic with my copy - the packaging, the booklet, the CD, and the DVD features! All contributed to my final thoughts - it's crazy cute & cool!!!!!! aaaaaaaaak! thank u, S.H.E! (n_n) thank you thank you..!

October 8, 2008 Actual concert reviewSo I recieved my copy of this yesterday! (^.^) It came in beautiful packaging + a cute Fish Leong cellphone strap so I was really happy!!!!!! Now, to the DVD features!!! The concert was Fishy in a HUGE arena - unlike her other concert DVD offered on YA. There were thousands of fans waving glowsticks and holding Fish Leong "fish" signs! She opened the show with her star track from "j'adore" (the song of the same title)! Everyone was really excited. She sounded very nervous on this song which could've been caused by the tall heights she was standing from! (0.0) Anyway! She got comfy quickly and performed some of those beloved hits & fan favorites of hers! (n_n) !! Hee-hee! It was BEAUTIFUL. The outfits were prettier than I expected and she looked beautiful. The overall stage setup was GIGANTIC - including a runway & stairs. Her connection with the fans was there through & through! She even rode out on a (pretty big) train & shook hands of the fans screaming in the audience! =p !! Hehehe! The energy in the arena was so strong, I thought Jolin Tsai or S.H.E were coming out to perform! XD hehehe! So much hype for a mainly-ballad concert. Buy, anyway! It was more than I expected for this show. (n_n)
I'm happy with my purchase & I think it was ever bit as worth the money!!!!!!! Thank you, Fish Leong!! Happy 10'th year anniversary too~!!!!!!! I'm new to Bae Seul Ki and I really enjoyed this album. I don't rate it 10 because I only liked 1/2 the songs...and there were a few that I found just to be "OK". Anyway! There's no doubt about it! (^.^) Bae Seul Ki is very gifted vocally and she's very cute too. There are many songs on here I am ADDICTED to and I think this is a good followup to her debut! Anyone who liked her first album should get this. I never really saw a "transformation" because even in her 1'st CD, she displayed a very "Hip Hop" look on some of the songs. Well, anyway! Ki displays different styles - cool Hip Hop, heavy R&B beats, cute pop songs, and very soulful ballads. No two songs sound alike and I think all will be pleased with it! There's something for everyone on this CD! (^_^)
I hope to see more improvement for Bae Seul Ki in the future. She could use more melodic beats to blend better with her voice..ummm...attractive verses (even though the choruses have an addictive rythmn) and she needs improvement in her ballads. This album has very few slow songs, so ballad-only listeners should avoid. Well, anyway~!!! The album booklet that was included is ADORABLE. (n_n) I will definitely buy more in the future! You should too, OK?
If you're uneasy about ordering because of the lack of promotion for it, then don't worry! It's really cheap and I'm confident you'll find a few songs you really like! =] bai-bai!

Her astonishing vocals & overwhelming emotion - not to mention, she has a gentle nature & sweet-looking face. This is truly a great thing to pick up. Why not spend a tiny 7.99$ to try out a new singer? Please? She's so new & so unknown (-___-)'' Her voice is powerful & I guarantee you'll be hypnotized! Heehehehehe!!!!!!! This is my first time hearing her & it compelled me to order her other CDs. I can't wait for more from this extremely talented woman. (^.^) Give her a chance in the spotlight, OKie? Korean CDs are so inexpensive which allows me to buy them by the hand fulls! Hehehe! I LOVE the music & language. It's truly poetic. try it out!

I was very disappointed though..because her voice isn't what it's made out to be. =/ OK..perfect way to describe her...she is the Korean Utada Hikaru in a way. She conveys so much emotion, it will leave you speechless...hmmmmmmm..! Her voice, on the other hand, could use alot of work. She can't really reach higher notes without forcing herself into a falsetto tone each time..or yelling a bit. It's very breath-y and often cracks at times. That is like Utada - whose voice is praised not because of its abilities & range, but because of the beautiful emotion that it brings to its listeners..as well as the harmonizing melody & captivating lyrics. Zia also chose to remain "faceless" for unknown reasons...or, as rumours say, she was thought to be unattractive. However, that's not the case anymore because it is said that her plastic surgery went over quite well. Fact or rumour, it's kind of irritating. =/ ?? Shouldn't singers be liked because of their VOICE..not the face. *siiiigh* anyway~~~~~!!!
The opening song is undoubtedly catchy & captures its listeners with her lovely tone & emotional disposition. It was stuck in my head for days after hearing it! (X_x) It's beautiful and, for the price, worth buying. If you've already seen the 3-part MVs, you're probably already in love with it. October 2, 2008 Intrigued!Ock Joo Hyun is definitely one of Korea's best vocalists out there! (^.^) This CD is incredible. I loved "Honey" when I first saw the MV on YT, so I decided to pick this up for the low (LOW!!) price of 13.99$! I grabbed it up along with Hyori Lee's new album..but I do like this one more. Being the best vocalist of Fin.K.L, I had high expectations to see what this was like! I also wanted to pick up "vol.1 - Nan"..but it's out of stock (T_T) !! So make sure you get this so you don't regret it once it's out of print! (like I do about "Nan"....*crying*)~!!
I like most all of the songs and there are only a couple that are just "OK" or "nice". Overall, it's really great and soooo overlooked! (T_T) So if you read this and you're on this product page, click click click! =P Order, OK? If you want a new Korean to look into that hasn't had any bad controversies and has a more wholesome image than her Fin.K.L counterpart, then grab it! She has a strong, beautiful voice which holds much emotion. She's great live too, so you won't have to worry about the CD voice being fake either. It's all natural..and very worth the price! (n_n)

I ventured into this album since I loved "It's Hyorish" so much. I don't think it's a GREAT album, but it's not bad either. I'm glad she decided to tone down her sexual image since this time because it's too over-the-top on this album. The video for "Get Ya" is actually a reminiscence of Koda Kumi's 2005 & 2006 works which is a very bad thing. Hyori is already 800x prettier than Koda Kumi - she doesn't have to show more of her body to prove it. I think this album has its own vibe about it that makes it incredibly addictive. I don't like the music videos for this CD, but I do love listening to the songs. I think it's almost worth the price YesAsia is offering, except..since the big controversy and reluctance for people to buy it, I think it should be lowered to 8.99$! Just thinking! XD Heehehehehe!
Anyway, it's a good album..but it's not something I would recommend to critical listeners who look for the deepest lyrics possible & smite those who don't have them. It's more for casual listening...and shouldn't be looked deep into. That's the type of music Hyori Lee is known for. However, if you want a really good first impression of her, go for her latest CD, OK? (n_n) This is just for those who are really interested & want some more of her songs. If you like R&B and Hip Hop...there's a 75% chance you may like this!!!!! Her racy image is a BIG problem at this time, but if you don't watch the MVs (or flip through the picture book.....), it shouldn't really be a problem.Did you find this review helpful? September 24, 2008 There is a reason...There's a reason why most people leaving bad comments leave it under an "anonymous" name...because they know they are just senselessly bashing & too embarassed to reveal themselves! (>_<) Also, for the ones calling her "hot" and "fine", keep in mind...she was a KID around this time & that's just plain nasty.
Anyway, BoA has talent most artists don't these days. She can't sing?? Tsk! I'd like to see you do those notes. Chances are, you can't sing not even half as well as she can. Her voice is absolutely beautiful and always has been since she was young. If you look back on her old videos, you see that she danced better than most people twice her age...and that was at the beginning of her training. She has natural skills and SM Entertainment simply helped her improve even more. It is INCREDIBLE that she can sing in so many languages. Her English may be terrible, but her Japanese & Chinese isn't (Korean goes without saying..)! English is insanely hard to learn and only a few Asian artists dare to learn it fluently. The English lyrics are cheesy, but keep in mind that the lyricist probably wasn't all that fluent in English either. Also, BoA is a beauty without makeup and most artists NEED it to look even half decent. She is gifted & it's a miracle she was so good at such a young age. BoA is a miracle herself. Her family-friendly image & her raw talent is enough to make just about anybody a fan - that is, if they're not bothered by not speaking the same language. For me, I go with my feeling! I can understand music - whatever the language..because I feel it. Wouldn't it be nice if everyone did that?
Well, anyway. This album is out of stock now, so if you missed it because you listened to people's fowl comments, then that's your loss. If you want to give her another chance, I recomment her "K-pop Selection" or her "Best Of Soul"..but I'd go with "K-pop Selection" most of all. =P Hehehe! Her Korean fits her vocals more.

September 23, 2008 I'm a big jerk!Please ignore my former review! (T_T) I was sooooooooo wrong. Just recently, I've become ADDICTED to Tomiko Van's vocals. She just has one of those voices that need to grow on you. After you realize its beauty, you realize how talented she is. I now think she has a GORGEOUS voice with loads of emotion put forth. I don't think this album is as good as her DAI works, but it's not bad. Omg. what was I thinking? I know! The antis I've met damaged my brain. XD omgggg! she is really really really good! I apologize to DAI/Tomiko Van fans because I was REALLY REALLY WRONG. so sorry. I am a huge fan of hers now & I just wish I would've actually listened & focused before reviewing her CDs. (T________T) She has an incredibly strong voice too. Sometimes, it's scratchy..but that's all a part of her style! What was I doing when I sampled this?? September 23, 2008 Fun & Sexy-CuteFirst of all, I am not a Hyori Lee fan. XD I love Korean music...I think Hyori is beautiful & has a wonderful voice, but I don't claim "fan" of her. However, I LOVED the "U-Go-Girl" song & the video was fun. I also love "Hey Mr. Big" although a scene of its music video has uncanny resemblance to Britney Spears's "Oops! I Did It Again" MV. (Watch both of them one-after-the-other and you'll see what I mean) Anyway! Regardless, this album is a definite improvement for her. Although I do not find it very original, it is fun & something fresh from Hyori Lee. She can really sing so beautifully and her fun flavor makes her appealing & got her to where she is now. She definitely carries "sexy-cute" better than Japan's Koda Kumi and really has the looks, attitude, voice, & confidence to back it. She carries herself with such style & charisma. (^_____^)
I rated it 8 out of 10, because although it is catchy & enjoyable, it lacks depth and originality. You can very well see in Korea's artists (Hyori Lee, Rain, Son Dambi, Wondergirls, BoA, etc), that they are heavily influenced by the American music industry and will sometimes mimic that style of mainstream R&B/Dance music artists like Beyonce', Britney Spears, Rihanna, etc. I sometimes wish they would invent something completely new & unlike anything, but I don't hold high hopes for it...
Back to the album though, I think it's a MUST HAVE for Hyori Lee fans and something interesting for noobs who may want to try her music out. It's the best first impression she could possibly make. Very nice & really a wonderful album to own - especially since it's only 13.99$!! Yeah, pick it up, OK? Hehehe!

She had so much potential and talent...not to mention, she was gorgeous and had the sweetest personality...I truly miss her so much. I bought her albums and even her rare Japan single! It's just not enough.....I really wish her company would consider a DVD release with music videos and performances..(v_v) I just wish everyone could've seen how special she was before she left this world. She even kept a MySpace and would post comments in English..it was really cute & she wanted so bad for people to like her. September 18, 2008 Reminiscence of early careerFirst off, this is a GREAT single. Both A-side and B-side are high quality, catchy, and all-around perfect. Kumi sounds beautiful & the video sample is really interesting. The techno/dance sound reminds me a bit of "BUT" and a bit of her first three albums (which I find to be her best). I truly love it and this will possibly be one of my most favorites from her. From what I've seen, the video doesn't seem to be R-rated like "JUICY", "Shake It", "Ima Sugu Hoshii", and "Cherry Girl" - all of which I just hated! It's nice so far! (n_n)
I do think Kumi was smart to tone down the sexuality as she matures & to realize she doesn't have to sell her body to get good fans. Good fans will love you for your personality & music - which is what I love Kuu for. (^_^) I wish her luck with this single! Her next album promises to be INCREDIBLE. (T_T) I wonder when we'll get a full album with 12-15 tracks & a DVD with music videos. Hmm! Well, anyway! Son Dambi shows off her vocal skills this time around & sounds very beautiful. I love the first single, "Invisible Person"! The video for it is sooo cute and she sounds like an angel. I'm glad she's focusing more vocally because too many people criticized her voice at first, but that's probably because it was usually techno-ized. Anyway! Koda Kumi's 2007 tour had a HUGE stage with great effects in the Tokyo Dome! Ayumi Hamasaki's 2007 tour had a GIGANTIC stage and even traveled outside of Japan. I expected The Funky Town to have come alive in Namie's "Play Tour 2007"! However, I don't think she's had this small and cheap of a stage in many years. The setlist was incredible, the outfits were so cute, and Namie delivered like never before. Yet, the stage looked low-budget & poorly prepared. It was disappointing that Avex didn't go out of their way for Ms. Amuro considering she made heaps of money from her 2007 album & singles. (T_T) The performance itself was Namie at her absolute best and actually giving it her all like she hasn't done in sooo long! She sounded almost exactly like the CD even while dancing. She smiled and glowed while performing difficult dance routines and still held her own! (^.^) She could've done without the dancers and still put on an incredible show. It's my all-time favorite Namie Amuro DVD. Yes, the stage setup & effects were disappointing, but Namie made this show worth the time. I had started to think maybe my money would've been better spent on something other than the "Play" album, but Namie reminded me of the energy & fun that made the album worth owning. I got into it & really really enjoyed it! (^___^) I'm so happy I didn't neglect watching this. It was a big improvement from all her past shows as far as dancing and live vocals!
