Raul of popular J-pop boy group Snow Man takes his second film starring role in the live-action adaptation of the manga Akabane Honeko no Bodyguard by Nigatsu Masamitsu. Deguchi Natsuki (Silent Parade) co-stars in her first leading role in the school action film Honeko Akabane's Bodyguards directed by Ishikawa Junichi, who is known for hit TV dramas like Legal High and Strawberry Night.

Akabane Honeko (Deguchi Natsuki) is a seemingly ordinary high school girl who suddenly has a ten billion yen bounty on her head due to yakuza lineage that she's unaware of. Honeko's fist-happy childhood sweetheart Arakuni Ibuki (Raul) becomes her bodyguard to protect her from danger. He strives to complete his mission without her finding out the truth about her identity.

Tsuchiya Tao takes a major role in the film as Jingu Masachika, an agent and Honeko's biological sister. Jingu resents Honeko for receiving the love she never got, and faces off against Arakuni but begins to have feelings for him. Okudaira Daiken, Takahashi Hikaru, Mogurider's Shiba Daisuke and Wednesday Campanella's Utaha are among Honeko's friends and classmates of Sosoji High School Class 3-4 who become her bodyguards.
