Take a rip-roaring thrill ride through space and time with Donnie Yen in Iceman, the highly anticipated two-part modern update of the 1989 Hong Kong action hit Iceman Cometh. Also serving as co-producer and action director, Yen stars as a Ming Dynasty warrior who wakes up in modern Hong Kong after spending centuries frozen in ice. Sparing no money to pull off a big-scale action fantasy, the filmmakers created multiple large-scale action sequences, including an astonishing grand finale set on Hong Kong's Tsing Ma Bridge (recreated on the old Hong Kong airport's runway) featuring explosive 3D action that must be seen to be believed. Iceman also stars Wang Baoqiang (Lost in Thailand) as another thawed Ming warrior out to capture his former friend, Eva Huang (Sorcerer and the White Snake) as a bar waitress who saves the hero and Simon Yam (The Midnight After) as a police officer with ulterior motives.

He Ying (Donnie Yen) is a loyal bodyguard of the Ming Dynasty. While returning from a mission in India, he is accused of working with Japanese pirates by comrade-in-arms Sao (Wang Baoqiang). During the ensuing chase, an avalanche buries He Ying, Sao and other soldiers, keeping them frozen in ice for centuries. In 2014, a mysterious man orders He Ying and Sao to be brought to Hong Kong and resurrected. However, a traffic accident causes He Ying to return to life prematurely. While He Ying roams the city like a fish out of water, Sao has also been resurrected and is determine to make He Ying pay for his crimes. With the help of a kind bar waitress (Eva Huang), He Ying sets out to evade capture and clear his name.

The Ming Dynasty lives four orphans, Ying, Yuanlong, Niehu and Sao. Raised in Taoyuan Village, the four are as closed as brothers. Their expceptional martial arts skills allow them to reach the highest rank within the inperial guards. The Emperor orders Ying to escort the Golden Wheel of Time from Sindhu (Now India) back to the capital, which is said to have the power of time travel and foresee into the future.

The Emperor believes that Ying killed Tu in order to conceal his identity as traitor, thus orders the death of Ying and his clan as punishment. With the Trio sent out to catch Ying, a separate troop is sent to Taoyuan to kill the villagers. Desperate to save the villagers, Ying chooses to fight his way out. The intensity of the duel has shaken the earth causing an avalanche that buries the four during the heat of battle.

Now in 2013, a mysterious financer digs up three ancient icemen; they are Ying, Sao and Niehu; a traffic accident unexpectedly defrosts Ying. May gives Ying shelter, they gradually start to fall for each other. Ying comes across a historical record on the internet stating that he plotted a revolt which branded him with the reputation of a traitor in history. For Ying to correct history, he must use the Golden Wheel of Time, to change the fate of the villagers.
